Etc. To gather individual suitable elements into one, and to believe that the nature of things is real, is the view of the Lokayata (materialist) school of thought, which is not present here. Such as 'that is', 'that is related', 'that is not' and other ways of establishing things, as well as things that possess the three characteristics of generality, particularity, and specific qualities, are all arbitrarily fabricated by partial aggregationists, and do not originate from the treatises of Dignāga and Dharmakīrti. Being able to distinguish things through the single negation and double aggregation of generality and particularity is the essence of rational treatises, and is the good saying of Jamyang (Mañjughoṣa) of the Sakya school. Regarding the refutation of the mixed tenets of the Samkhya (enumeration) school and partial aggregationism, such as the simultaneous occurrence of birth and destruction, and other different forms of rational expression, this is entirely the intellectual talent of the Sakya translator. If one believes that the common attributes within sandalwood and other things are the trees themselves, and considers them to be real, wouldn't the weapon of reason turn against oneself? Because seeing this would turn back to harm oneself, one claims that form, sound, etc., are not real, presumptuously following the views of Sakya Paṇḍita, while people like yak wool claim to be the fathers of the world. Then, although there is a dichotomy in explanation, there is no distinction between the two in application. Could it be that the nectar teachings of Jamyang have been stolen by the beautiful youth of the Asuras? In order to cleverly conceal the previous faults mentioned in the teachings of Go Shak (a person's name), which are like the sun and moon, it is claimed that the various components within sandalwood and other trees are the same entity as the trees, and not different entities. While mutually believing that they are real, one cannot see where they are the same entity and where they are different entities. Could it be that your eyes, which radiate the light of wisdom, have been snatched away by the hand of Rāhu? Since inference (anumāna), self-awareness, and things are the same entity, and it is claimed that direct perception (pratyakṣa) and generality are the same entity, yet one says that sandalwood and trees are not the same entity. Has one not realized that one has violated the three statements? Claiming that one entity is universally present in all things, and that one entity pervades all things, if one does not see that the three statements are directly contradictory when applying inference and direct perception and combining clear reasons? When refuting the opponent, one uses indivisibility (niravayava) as a reason; when defending oneself, one is skilled at distinguishing the same entity. Being able to understand the key that refuting the opponent will not turn back to harm oneself is the kindness of the Jamyang Lama. An indivisible entity is one entity, which is the view of the Samkhya school and partial aggregationism. Although one admits that form, etc., are generality in application, one is able to distinguish generality and apoha (exclusion) in explanation, which is entirely the view of the Jamyang translator of Sakya. The difficult commentary on the Treasury of Logic, clarifies the essence of the key points. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the explanation of the third chapter, which is about the analysis of general and specific. Jamyang Gon Sakya Pandita said: 'Blessings have entered my heart, I possess the clear eye of discriminating wisdom. This is Nagarjuna's, my, good saying.'
