Because this is the first argument of an uncertain reason. 2-29 The real sign. If accepted, then it would lead to the sound being determined as non-tangible, and it would occur in a person who doubts the permanence or impermanence of sound. If accepted, then it would lead to the sound not being tangible. No wise person can refute this. The blessings of the three hundred thousand (referring to a certain scripture or practice) reside solely in the lotus of my heart. Therefore, as the teachings of the three hundred thousand state, one must inevitably follow these two words (referring to the aforementioned view) afterwards. Thus, the explanation of the wheel of the aspect-property (pakṣa-dharma), according to the self-view of the Commentary on Valid Cognition (Pramāṇavārttika). What is to be explained is the small treatise on the wheel of the aspect-property that clarifies the Determination of Valid Cognition (Pramāṇaviniścaya), and the explanation that combines these, called 'Opening the Hearts of the Wise'. This was born from the teachings of Jamgon Lama Lodrö Namgyal ('Jam-mkhon Bla-ma Blo-gros rNam-rgyal), and composed by me, Nāgārjuna (Klu-sgrub). On an auspicious day in the first month of the Earth-Female Rabbit year (sa-mo yos-bu'i lo) called 'Myos-ldan', it was completed in the famous great monastery called 'Jetavana Vulture Peak' (mNyan-yod Bya-rgod gShongs), may its virtue and benefit for others spread in all ten directions!
