and achievements, if the related history is recorded, it will become meaningful for future generations. The Vajra Guru granted this, and with the wise and loving devotion of the disciples repeatedly urging, these records, which boast various scenes that bring laughter to the wise, are compiled here as if they were jewels. In general, the term "biography" comes from the Sanskrit word "विमोक्ष (vimokṣa, liberation)," meaning complete liberation or complete release. It refers to a distinct individual who, possessing complete purity, is completely liberated from the cycle of suffering in the lower realms; the intermediate, possessing the complete purity of definite renunciation, is completely liberated from the ocean of samsara; and the superior, possessing the complete purity of higher intention, is completely liberated from the two extremes of existence and non-existence. In short, it refers to the wonderful history of oneself being completely liberated from suffering and its causes, and liberating others from bondage. The necessity of such narration is also because of seeing that reason, and generating three kinds of faith or any one of them in the minds of the listeners. When faith arises, it awakens the power of lineage and plants the seed of liberation, as stated in the sutra: Faith is the door through which all the Buddha's teachings appear. And, Ananda, strive for faith! This is what the Tathagata requests. So it is said. Furthermore, the biographies of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the assembly of Shravakas, and the wise and accomplished ones who came to Tibet and China, as well as the virtuous spiritual friends who have become reliable individuals, are difficult even to hear for those without merit. If heard, because they bring temporary and long-term benefits and supreme happiness, the noble beings of the past made the practice of teaching the Buddha's Jataka tales the main method of spreading the Dharma. Jetsun All-Knowing Tara Protector said: If one is a noble person, then wherever he goes, that place needs to have greater faith and compassion, less partiality and attachment, and the minds of the people need to become gentle. If faith and compassion become weak, and partiality and contention become strong, relying on it, if quarrels and so on become rough and chaotic, that is the sign of an unwholesome spiritual friend.

As it is said. Even a small part of the biographies of the holy ones can be kept in mind and explained to other sentient beings. Even a single instance of faith and respect arising at that moment can plant the seed of whiteness, which will surely turn into a great matter. This is because they all hold meaningful bodhicitta and aspirations. The actual subject matter that can inspire such faith is the qualities of that person that are in accordance with the Dharma. And qualities such as the power and wealth of lineage, dominion and glory, enjoyment and fame, etc., are outside the teachings of the Buddha, so they are taught as "worldly dharmas" to be abandoned. The wisdom of the learned, the realization of the accomplished, the deeds of propagating the Dharma and benefiting beings, etc., are the supreme qualities of the followers of the Buddha, but they are rare in this degenerate age. Garwang Chökyi Wangchuk said, "In my opinion, there seem to be many who claim to practice the Dharma, but it is rare to find someone whose inner practice, outer conduct, and the qualities arising from them are consistent. I find it hard to believe. Nowadays, those who claim to be scholars proficient in reasoning, those who claim to be monks with perfect discipline, and those who claim to have grown old in the mountains after meditating, are only barely maintaining the status quo. There are many who claim to practice asceticism after achieving realization. The Buddha said that only I and those like me can measure others. Therefore, towards all these, I will not offer criticism, but only pure vision. At that time, through asceticism, practicing on the path of application, one can say that one has reached the path of seeing." Therefore, the practitioners of the path of application in Tantra practice asceticism in order to advance to the path of seeing. We do not have such fortune for the time being, so we need a practice that suits our capacity. If we pretend to be ascetics, accomplished ones, clairvoyants, etc., we may temporarily receive some offerings from foolish worldly people, but it would be best if we had both merit and qualities. If we cannot have both, we should focus on qualities." This was said by combining the examples and meanings from the scriptures. Thus, if one possesses the qualities spoken of in the Dharma, then that person
