A meticulously compiled memorandum of essential points for those newly entering the medical profession, entitled "Nectar Drops." A meticulously compiled memorandum of essential points for those newly entering the medical profession, entitled "Nectar Drops." This is the work entitled "Nectar Drops: A Meticulously Compiled Memorandum of Essential Points for Those Newly Entering the Medical Profession." Oṃ(藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), A(藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:阿), Tha(藏文:ཐ,梵文天城体:थ,梵文罗马拟音:tha,汉语字面意思:塔). Like nectar drops on a perfectly clear surface, in the sky of the Dharmadhatu, with the smiling rays of the Form Body, you destroy all darkness of causal faults. I respectfully prostrate to the Lama, the King of Physicians. Knowledge confined to books makes practice difficult; carrying a medicine bag without study deceives patients; for those who seek material gain and crave fame, I strive to write this, hoping it will be of benefit. Generally, although one may have studied the Four Medical Tantras and so on, to diagnose diseases and administer appropriate remedies, it is indispensable to have heard the oral instructions of experienced teachers, as well as long-term practical experience. For those doctors who have not extensively studied the tantras and instructions, but have only learned about pulse and urine analysis from the Outer Tantra, and rely on a small collection of cherished notes, this is especially important. Therefore, I will record some concise notes on the experience of prescribing diseases and medicines, and some important practical methods. Firstly, in general, due to the presence of the three poisons of afflictions in the minds of sentient beings, the three diseases of imbalance arise as a result, dwelling congenitally. That is, desire causes wind disorders, hatred causes bile disorders, and ignorance causes phlegm disorders. Two mixed together cause combined disorders, and all three mixed together cause complex disorders. Depending on the proportion, the classification of diseases becomes very numerous, but in short, it is said that there are one hundred and one diseases of life that must be treated and are fully formed. Therefore, it is impossible for there to be no disease in the minds of sentient beings, but because the elements are balanced and not moved by demons, they are not transformed but remain latent. When the elements are unbalanced and disturbed, and when they are moved by supporting demons, they are transformed and manifest as two types of disease. To this, the Buddhas manifested the activity of compassion, and in order to prolong the lives of sentient beings, there are methods such as extracting essences, and in order to cure diseases, there are methods of medicine, the number of which is inconceivable and spread throughout all regions. Therefore, all diseases

In short, the root of everything lies in the three: wind, bile, and phlegm. Therefore, understanding the causes, locations, pathways, times, seasons, provoking factors, disease manifestations, and remedies of these three, as summarized in the Root Tantra, is extremely important. Thus, we will begin with these three and explain them in order. As the tantra says, "First ask about the cause of the disease." Therefore, first inquire in detail about what provoking factors caused the disease, what symptoms are currently present, and what benefits or harms arise from diet and behavior. Only then should you examine the pulse and urine to determine the diagnosis. If you do not inquire and listen sufficiently, but only touch the pulse casually or examine the urine briefly, you will not be able to accurately diagnose the disease. If you cannot accurately diagnose the disease, then the medication and treatment will likely be deficient, excessive, or incorrect. Even minor illnesses that can be diagnosed by ordinary people, or occasional recoveries due to coincidence, can lead to arrogance and self-conceit, resulting in reckless actions. This causes many deaths due to improper medication and treatment, so extreme caution is necessary. First, regarding the common provoking factors of wind disorders: excessive mental stress, excessive blood loss, frequent vomiting and diarrhea, excessive emotional suppression, a diet lacking nutrition, excessive consumption of cold drinks, and so on. Because wind disorders can both initiate and exacerbate other diseases, one must always be vigilant about wind disorders. Symptoms of wind disorders include: frequent yawning, insomnia, dizziness, tinnitus, pain and distension in the heart, upper abdomen, hips, waist, and other areas, with pain shifting unpredictably, intestinal rumbling, tremors and twitching, loose joints, mental confusion, worsening of symptoms in the evening and early morning, and drooling. The pulse may be fast or slow, but it is empty and unbearable to pressure, like floating on water, a bubble, or a hollow tube placed there. Sometimes the pulse is also small. The urine is bluish and thin with large bubbles, and the odor and steam are small. Through heat testing, the urine may appear red or yellow, but it lacks stickiness. If it is clear, it is wind. The tongue is red and thirsty, and small pimples appear on the edges of the tongue. For these symptoms, general medicines such as Twenty-Five Ingredient Musk Pill, Thirty-Five Ingredient Agarwood Pill, and Fourteen Ingredient Nutmeg Pill are appropriate. If there is suspicion of mixing with other diseases, Fifteen Ingredient Agarwood Pill is better. The medicine can be taken with alcohol or bone broth. Warm and nourishing foods such as aged meat, brown sugar, and yogurt should be consumed. One should stay in a warm place and avoid excessive talking. Do not speak unpleasant words. Wind-relieving treatments can be performed, such as applying or sprinkling nutmeg powder on the crown of the head, six or seven joints, the center of the chest, the back of the neck, and the centers of the feet and hands. Alternatively, Mongolian moxibustion can be used.
