A collection of connecting words suitable for all levels, creating joy, necessary for the occasion of teaching and learning the sacred Dharma. A collection of connecting words suitable for all levels, creating joy, necessary for the occasion of teaching and learning the sacred Dharma. This is the text called "A Collection of Connecting Words Suitable for All Levels, Creating Joy, Necessary for the Occasion of Teaching and Learning the Sacred Dharma." The glory and prosperity of samsara and nirvana all come from you. The precious and supreme Dharma is born from you. May the feet of the master, the chief of the Shakyas, be placed on the crown of my head in all lifetimes. The mother of the Perfection of Wisdom is revered by all the Buddhas. Respectfully prostrating to her, I enter this composition with joy. Even if I am not truly wise, whatever I do is meaningful. The wise all go to this, which is the realm of non-dual fruit. Regarding the method of how to teach and learn the precious Dharma, there are seven aspects: the qualities of the teacher and student; the time for teaching and learning; the manner of teaching and learning; the preparation for engaging in the activity; appropriate connecting words; finally, adorning with gratitude and dedication prayers; and showing the benefits of teaching and learning. First, the teacher must possess the qualities of a virtuous friend as described in the sutras and tantras. In short, they must possess the three trainings, be skilled in words and meaning, realize the truth of the Dharma, and be able to benefit others with compassion. Primarily, as it is said, "The qualities of a master must include lineage," they must possess an unbroken lineage of words and meaning, and be untainted by the defilements of broken vows. In particular, it is said that the sin of a foolish person teaching the Dharma is greater than killing sentient beings in the three realms. For example, just as a blind person leading a blind person can only lead them to jump off a cliff, similarly, if a foolish, arrogant person teaches empty words that they think are Dharma to ignorant, self-righteous people, instead of liberation, they will be bound by the chains of wrong views and turn away from the path of liberation. Therefore, it is necessary to be someone who has grasped their own lineage through realization and who knows how to integrate the entire teaching through learning. The listener should also abandon the thirty-six faults and possess the thirty-six qualities. In short, they should have little attachment to samsara, great faith and pure perception, possess patience and diligence, and have the capacity for intelligence.

Vast and boundless. Engaging in teaching and listening to the Dharma with someone who is not deeply acquainted and has no doubts about the Lama and the Dharma will make the results meaningful. Secondly, in general, there is nothing more important than the activities of the Dharma, so when the connection between the teacher and the listener is complete, one should immediately begin teaching and listening to the Dharma. Delay and indifference will greatly hinder all virtuous actions. In particular, the Omniscient Longchenpa said: "In the beginning of entering the Dharma, one must listen, because understanding the advantages and disadvantages of samsara and nirvana allows one to accept and reject. When training one's own mind, one must listen, because it can eliminate ignorance about anything. When practicing continuously, one must also listen, because it can promote virtuous actions, etc. Even the liberation of all knowledge requires listening, because it can eliminate the proliferation of doubts." Therefore, from now on, from the initial entry into the path to the final completion, listening is more important than oneself. Because one can focus on the practice experiences of the previous masters, and one can improve one's own practice realization. If one thinks that "these initial ones are enough" and clings to anything and retreats to practice, one will not be liberated in the end, one will go astray, and one will not realize the mistake. People may think that you are practicing the Dharma, but in reality you are not helping yourself at all. In the Sutra of the Heap of Jewels, it says: "Son of good family, if you want to quickly and completely attain Buddhahood, you should study to completely seek beyond the ocean of listening." Third, regarding the actions of the teacher and the student, first, the speaker of the Dharma should wear a teaching hat like a thorn, wear the three robes in a circular manner, maintain cleanliness, and perform daily practice and guidance. In the Sutra Requested by Blo-gros rGya-mtsho, it says: "The speaker of the Dharma should maintain cleanliness, act cautiously, wash thoroughly, and dress neatly." Also, the vidyā-mantra that protects the speaker of the Dharma, from the Sacred Dharma White Lotus Sutra, should be written on blue paper with gold or vermilion, and if one wears a teaching hat, it should be placed inside the hat, and if not, it should be worn around the neck.
