Even though we have now obtained a human body, if we cannot practice the pure Dharma that obtains the essence, we will inevitably experience endless suffering in samsara and the lower realms, even more than the number of lifetimes we have previously experienced. All of that is because the mind has not turned to Dharma. That is because of the lack of causes such as faith, diligence, and wisdom, and because of not encountering a Lama and pure Dharma. Now, in this instance, we are using the good fruit of virtuous actions to completely exhaust being thrown into other births, and we are endowed with all the conducive conditions for practicing Dharma. Moreover, having the fortune to enter the Secret Mantra Vajrayana is a sign of completely accumulating merit. Therefore, abandon the dull-witted mind that is distracted by other things and where the stream of thoughts spreads like a continuous flow, and generate the courage of faith and devotion. Make each of the imparted objects of meditation clear. It is necessary to have unwavering courage to fully receive the inner empowerment of meditative stabilization, not just hoping for the outer, elaborate material empowerment." }, { "original_tibetan": "དེ་ལ་སྤྱིར་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་བསྟན་", "chinese_translation": "总的来说,佛陀的教法", "english_translation": "In general, the teachings of the Buddha" } ] ============================================================

All of these are contained within the three trainings that are spoken of and the three pitakas that are able to speak. When these three are fully complete in the continuum of one individual, they can uproot all defilements, thereby realizing the supreme Bodhi that perfects the two benefits. The way of completion is to start from individual liberation and complete upwards. Although there are two ways of completion in the continuum of mantra vows, namely the lower two being completed incidentally, what becomes the essence of the three is called the Vidyadhara Mantra Pitaka. This becomes the great secret of the single path traveled by all Buddhas. It is superior to the causal vehicle (referring to the exoteric teachings) by three distinctions. The Three Lights Treatise states: "Although the meaning is one, there is no confusion, many methods without difficulty, because it is relied upon by sharp faculties, the mantra vehicle is extremely superior." Therefore, the Hinayana does not skillfully use methods, is a dull faculty, so it cannot obtain the Bodhi of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers. The Paramita vehicle is confused about methods, is a medium faculty, needs to give away head, hands, feet, etc., many difficult practices, and after countless eons can obtain Bodhi. The Mantrika, with the support of an individual who possesses the six elements of the cause, from the method continuum, can transform the karma that would cause other practitioners to fall into the lower realms into a cause for obtaining Bodhi through the distinction of depth. Therefore, the continuum of the fruit is the wisdom body of the Vajradhara, possessing all aspects, free from all aspects, which is great bliss itself. Those with sharp faculties and diligence can realize it in this life. The Kalachakra Root Tantra says: "Butchers, basket makers, craftsmen, etc., as well as those who commit the five inexpiable sins, if they follow the practice of mantra, they will attain Buddhahood in this very life." Also, those with medium faculties, although not diligent, if there are no downfalls, will attain Buddhahood in three or seven lifetimes. The Secret Treasury says: "If one has empowerment and generosity, one will receive empowerment in lifetime after lifetime, after seven lifetimes, one will attain Bodhi without practice." Also, those with lower faculties, whose wisdom is extremely low, if they enter mantra and do not violate the vows, although they cannot practice, they will obtain the fruit in sixteen lifetimes. The Fifth Vow says: "If there are no downfalls, in sixteen lifetimes, one will achieve it."
