Now, the sun and moon shine together, The four sacred objects that suppress the illusions of the borderlands, A sacred place surrounded by a thousand stupas, Samye Monastery is complete with inner and outer virtues. The precious Dharma seat of Abbot Shantarakshita, the translator Vairochana, is like a stupa of the Dharmakaya, The vow-fulfilling island of Jomo Bodhisattva, Adorned on all sides by unparalleled halls. A sight that never tires, like an illusion, Satisfying the faithful like the nectar of the gods. Hard to part with, like a long-lost friend, What is it that your heart desires? Surrounded by sacred places in all directions, A treasure trove of Dharma and wealth is piled up, Accomplished beings, gods, and dakinis gather like clouds, Those who dwell here are also enjoying the home of the accomplished. Heruka, the glorious Second Buddha, and Bodhisattva Dharma Kings, a hundred translators, etc., A sacred place where teachings and practices gather day and night, Remembering the past, tears well up like facing death. The marks of the mudras, the hidden treasure of wisdom, The lord of the snowy land, with a beautiful voice, The handprint born of unprecedented wisdom, Even billions of Brahmas cannot compare. The waves of merit of beings surge into the sky, The compassion of the Three Jewels gathers like summer clouds, The sun of Shakya's teachings shines brightly without obstruction, May that first time be renewed again now. The dense and solemn mandala of the cloud sea, A monastery that seems to have been moved to the earth, May this place be free from the obscurations of illusion, And remain here like a vajra. May all sentient beings gain faith, Restore what is decaying and offer immeasurable respect, May you remain here eternally and unchanging, May your light adorn the entire world! The devoted disciple of Padmasambhava, Ocean of Qualities, praises with sincerity the special deeds of the abbot, acharya, and Dharma King. Because he is fortunate to behold the glorious and immutable Samye Monastery with the eyes of faith, he offers this special praise. Ah Ho! The treasure of compassion, the holy Avalokiteshvara, Shakyamuni, with skillful means, Abandoned the glory of the pure land, And headed towards the realm of the pretas, full of defilements.
