Meet! May the unbroken lineage of meaning receive blessings. May the mind's intentions be fulfilled. It's like a blind person finding a jewel. If you waste it now, it's your own fault. Generally, initial faith is like a mist. If a breeze arises, there is a danger of it disappearing. A little effort is like dry wood fire. If you don't add fuel, it won't last. The first view and meditation are like the summer sun. Although it appears sometimes and makes the mind happy, it is not permanent, and the meditator wants to give up. Therefore, apply the whip of impermanence to all of that. Certain to die and uncertain when, if a deep conviction arises from the depths of your heart, you don't need anyone else to urge you to practice Dharma. Although there are many profound teachings of Sutra and Tantra, the root of all of them is your own mind. Subduing the mind includes all the Buddha's teachings. Although there are many methods and traditions for subduing it, turning inward and cherishing the essence is the quick path of the Great Seal (Mahamudra), the footsteps of the glorious accomplished ones (Siddhas). The mind, the momentary thoughts of the present, various appearances arise while being empty. While appearing, the essence is unestablished and empty. If you investigate yourself, no form is established, yet it appears. Empty, clear, without grasping or concept. Inexpressible, with one's own experience. There is nothing other than this. When the mind thinks it needs to settle down, it doesn't stay for a moment, and thoughts churn. That is a sign of observing the mind. Sometimes the mind is calm, sometimes it is busy. That is a sign that the state of meditation has arisen a little. When the mind is placed, it stays quietly. That is a sign that the root of calm abiding (Shamatha) is established. Until that happens, look for a place to stay. Focus your attention on being mindful and not distracted. For beginners, stability of mind and experience are important. If you don't look at the nature of the mind and summarize it, there is no time to increase realization. The result of insight (Vipassana) without calm abiding as the cause is like a butter lamp in a strong wind. From a stable experience, look at the nature of abiding and moving. Seeing emptiness as nothing is a sign of knowing the view of mere emptiness. Without clinging to the object of view, let the viewer look at himself. That viewer is without foundation, rootless, and empty in essence. Know that abiding and moving are inseparable and one. The viewer abides clearly in his own nature. That is a sign of grasping the head of insight. From that point on, from the mindfulness of memory, follow the traces of abiding and moving, and

Holding onto the duality of the seer and the seen, etc., Without traversing the perilous path of hope and doubt, Whenever remembered, leave it naturally relaxed. If it is not the natural state of the true meaning, There is no need for fabrication or acceptance and rejection, It is a sign of knowing the practice of Mahamudra. If one can constantly and continuously cultivate this meditation, A comprehension similar to realization will arise. If one follows after that, the great meditation will decline, Many intervals will arise, and experiences and signs will increase. If attachment to that is weak, one will easily be deceived by demons, Ultimately, one will obtain stable, unchanging realization. The true meaning, without signs, accomplishes the king of signlessness. What is always cherished in great meditation is: Not relaxing devotion and reverence, And not separating from the mind of love and compassion, Broadly generating the intention of pure perception, Constantly striving in the stages of accumulating merit, Destroying the arrogance of self-importance from the root, Being inseparable from the guru, placing them as equal, The duration of meditation being equal to death, When the life practice is accomplished to the end, Then there is no need for doubt in the mind, but faith, The wisdom of realizing the true meaning reveals its own face, There is no need to ask others, but to trust one's own mind, The knots of doubt in the mind are self-liberated, The definitive certainty arises from within, It is having seized the throne of great meditation. These words are from the practitioner of great empowerment, Whose name is Tseyi (Life) devoted to yoga, In the guise of single-pointed devotion, From the glorious Kagyu victorious fathers and sons, One who has well received the blessings of the meaning lineage, The renunciant who holds the three vows, Named Lodro Taye Drakpa, At Tsadra Rinchen Drakhro, May these words benefit you! Mangalam (Tibetan, Devanagari: मङ्गलम्, Romanized Sanskrit: maṅgalam, Literal Chinese meaning: Auspicious)! Oral Instructions.
