A commentary on the chapter of the root tantra of glorious Vajrakila, a compilation of essential points, called the Oral Instruction that Pleases the Great and Glorious One. A commentary on the chapter of the root tantra of glorious Vajrakila, a compilation of essential points, called the Oral Instruction that Pleases the Great and Glorious One. A commentary on the chapter of the root tantra of glorious Vajrakila, a compilation of essential points, called the Oral Instruction that Pleases the Great and Glorious One, thus it abides. Namo Guru Shri Vajrakumaraya. Though the dust of effort, thought, and characteristics never divides the opportunity of the stainless sky, yet in the realm of the untamed and difficult to subdue, compassion blazes forth with the force of its own nature, self-arising as a mudra. With the power of a billion flames at the end of time, it instantly burns the thicket of existence and afflictions. May the supreme deity, Heruka who subdues demons, who perfects the activity of all the glorious Buddhas, protect us. The stream of blessings of the play of glorious great wisdom, from one to another, the assembly of vidyadharas holding skill, the golden garland of oral instructions, both common and special, I prostrate with devotion to the Khon lineage and all its branches. At the end of the age of strife, like the Udumbara flower, wondrous liberation has reached the edge of the sky beyond the mind. The all-pervading Vajradhara, possessor of seven oral instructions, Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, abides in the center of my heart. Like the possessor of appearances on the face of a clear mirror, with the stainless wisdom cultivated over lifetimes, unsurpassed by any scholar in the land of snows, through the kindness of the great Sakyapa, in the tantras undisputed by all, new and old, the activity of scattering flowers of praise, from the root tantra of the supreme deity Vajrakumara, this tantra extracted as a chapter, if well understood, is the play of activity, the meaning of the tantra, the key instructions, and the practice, in order to comprehend them, with an easy to understand and concise commentary, I will create a garden that delights the wise. Here, in the great tantra of the play of activity Vajrakila, this section called "Bam Dyottama Mala Bhumde," extracted from the tantra of supreme knowledge, known as the root chapter, will be explained. In general, for the three yogas of the early translation school of secret mantra, there are three great agreements on how to explain them. Among them, first, the generation stage Mahayoga also has two traditions of explanation, the tantra and the sadhana. The tantra, the chief of the eighteen great tantras, is Vajrasattva.

Regarding the Earth-Protecting Illusory Net, there are many ways of explaining it based on the commentaries of various great Indian masters. Nowadays, the most common approach is to follow the system of the great Vimalamitra, with different schools explaining it through five or six sections. Other tantras, such as the Moon Secret Bindu, have their own unique explanations by accomplished masters. Here, for the lineage of the Activity Kilaya, I will explain it according to the Great Commentary 'Black Hundred Thousand,' which combines the intentions of Guru Padmasambhava, Vimalamitra, and the Nepalese Śīlamañju. In general, the Kilaya tantra has two ways of summarizing, three ways of explaining, six core meanings, ten steps of combination, twelve key points, twenty life steps, fifty-one root deities, and two thousand three hundred retinue deities, which are identified as eight major sections. However, within the ten steps of combination of the tantra, the others are implicitly included. If we consider only the root sections, they can be summarized into two parts: the upper part achieves enlightenment, and the lower part subdues enemies and obstacles. The two ways of summarizing the tantra mentioned earlier are the root tantra and the explanatory tantra. The first includes the 'Supreme Wisdom Hundred Thousand' and 'Vajrakrodha,' and the second includes the 'Blood-Drinking Root Tantra.' The three ways of explaining the tantra are as stated in the White Tantra of the Abode Prophecy: 'Kilaya is the king of tantras, Kilaya is the master of transmission, Kilaya is the definitive meaning of the oral instructions.' Thus, according to the tantra, it is explained from the eighteen sections of Vajrakrodha Longchenpo; according to the transmission, it is explained from the twenty-one great transmissions; and according to the oral instructions, it is explained from the one hundred and eight oral instructions. The six bonds of the tantra are: to take the basis of action by accomplishing the five perfections; to initiate the core of the meaning with the three mandalas as a preliminary; to empower the life in the three realms, and to empower the life with the wisdom-being of life; to invoke and worship the wisdom mandala, and to cultivate it to obtain the essence of accomplishment; to complete it with the six hidden mantras and the life transmission and bathing transmission, and to perform the subjugation activity; and to conclude the activity with pressing, burning, and throwing, these are the six bonds. The clear and detailed meaning of these is recorded in the 'Vajra Activity Sequence' and others composed by Guru Padmasambhava.
