The one with the jewel crown who protects from fear, The noble Avalokiteśvara who uproots samsara, The venerable Mother Tara who eliminates all fears, The embodiment of all three roots, Guru Padmasambhava, To the inseparable, glorious root guru, From now until the essence of enlightenment is reached, I take refuge from the depths of my heart and bones. I pray with fervent devotion and longing. In all situations of this life, the next life, and the bardo, With love, consider me and look upon me with your wisdom eye. I pray that you hold me with the inseparable hook of compassion. Protect me from the fears of samsara and the lower realms, And open the door to the path of higher realms and liberation. Pacify all unfavorable obstacles in this life, And guide me to the blissful realm in the next life. May the two obscurations be purified and the two accumulations be perfected, And may I accomplish the two benefits and quickly attain perfect enlightenment.
