I take refuge in the Sangha. I take refuge in the empty and clear Dharmakaya of my own mind. Like this, one hundred and twenty-one, seven, etc., when practicing meditation, recite or repeat three or seven times together, and the following should also be understood. After reciting in conjunction with vastness, the objects of refuge dissolve into light and merge into oneself, and through this merging, the blessings of compassion are received. Think that the mind naturally inclines towards the Dharma without obstacles. Afterwards, in the post-meditation period, all sentient beings, parents equal to the sky, are always wandering in the ocean of suffering in samsara, how pitiful. I alone will establish all these beings in the state of perfect Buddhahood. Because I do not have the power to do so, I will practice the meditation and recitation of the essence of all Dharmas, the six-syllable mantra, and quickly liberate all sentient beings. With a compassionate heart and Bodhicitta like a shepherd, recite these words: May all sentient beings attain the state of perfect and complete enlightenment. For this purpose, I will practice the meditation and recitation of the noble Avalokiteśvara. Recite this number of times and be sure to integrate the good intention into your mind. Taking refuge first becomes the basis of all vows. The mind turns to the Dharma. There will be no obstacles in the practice of the path. By generating Bodhicitta, from then on, whatever thoughts and actions are done will become aids to enlightenment, so it is necessary to enter the Dharma path. Then, with the awareness of turning inward, encourage the mind to the Dharma, divided into three parts: laying the foundation of renunciation, spurring on diligence, and combining the intention of a shepherd's view. The first part is divided into two types of examination: general and specific. In general, from beginningless time, grasping onto selflessness as self is the root ignorance. Examining the appearances of the six realms of beings generated by causes, conditions, karma, and afflictions, like enemies and friends in a dream or an illusory kingdom, from their own side, there is not even a tiny particle that is truly established. However, clinging to false illusory appearances, covered by the habitual tendencies of afflictions, this is the suffering of conditioning. Appearing as happiness, but quickly impermanent and changing, this is the suffering of change. Directly experiencing the results of bad karma, this is the suffering of suffering. For example, sesame...

Just as oil permeates everything, all sentient beings in the three realms and six classes cannot escape the three great sufferings. Therefore, contemplating that there is not even a hair's breadth of happiness in samsara, generate a strong renunciation. In particular, examine each of the six classes of beings individually. As stated in the Sutra on the Establishment of Mindfulness: "Beings in hell suffer from the fires of hell; hungry ghosts suffer from hunger and thirst; animals suffer from eating each other; gods suffer from heedlessness; demigods suffer from fighting and contention; humans suffer from short lives. Even the tip of a needle in samsara never has happiness." As it says, from the peak of existence to the Avici hell, wherever one is born in the high or low realms of samsara, its nature is only suffering. For example, just as food mixed with poison has no difference between good and bad appearances and should be abandoned, so too should one firmly generate the mind to definitely escape from samsara. Secondly, in particular, examine our own human condition. Since we are not born in the eight states of unfreedom, we have the eight freedoms, the five personal endowments, and the five circumstantial endowments, thus possessing the eighteen qualities of leisure and endowment. Obtaining a human body is extremely rare, and if obtained, it is of great benefit, comparable to a jewel and the Dharma. Therefore, it is difficult to obtain in terms of cause, example, and number. The number of beings in the lower realms is like the dust of the great earth, while the chance of obtaining a human body is like the dust on a fingernail. A human body endowed with Dharma is as rare as a star in the daytime. As stated in the Compassionate White Lotus Sutra: "It is difficult to be born as a human, it is difficult to obtain leisure and endowment, it is difficult for a Buddha to appear in the world, it is difficult to have a desire for virtuous Dharma, and it is difficult to obtain a pure aspiration." And so on, endlessly spoken. Even if such a human body is obtained, it cannot escape the four great rivers of birth, old age, sickness, and death, and there is not even a moment of permanence or happiness. In general, all compounded phenomena are controlled by the four extremes of impermanence: gathering ends in separation, accumulation ends in depletion, rising ends in falling, and birth inevitably ends in death. In particular, there is no certainty when the human body will die, and there is no certainty about what will cause death. Like a prisoner being led to the execution ground, with each passing day, one gets closer to death.

Like a rushing stream, like a water bubble, like a waterfall on a steep slope, and like lightning in the sky, death comes suddenly and swiftly. No wise person, virtuous one, powerful person, wealthy person, warrior, shaman, or doctor can prevent it. Enjoyment, power, and fame cannot follow; only good and bad karma accompany consciousness to the next life. Those who do evil fall into the lower realms, and those who do good attain higher realms and liberation. Therefore, there is nothing that benefits the next life except the sacred Dharma. Not to mention the next life, the sacred Dharma alone greatly benefits both the present and the future in this life. There is no time for 'tomorrow' and 'the day after tomorrow,' so from this moment on, have faith in karma and its results, pure faith in the Lama and the Three Jewels, and the desire to achieve enlightenment. Possessing these three, regard the body as a servant and a boat, and firmly resolve to devote oneself solely to the sacred Dharma. The third is:
