The Seventeenth Volume of Instructions: The Teaching Manual of the Great Compassionate Kyer Gang Tradition. The Seventeenth Volume of Instructions. The Teaching Manual of the Great Compassionate Kyer Gang Tradition. The Teaching Manual of the Great Compassionate Kyer Gang Tradition is complete. Om, may there be well-being, may there be accomplishment). In general, to the fields filled with degeneration, and especially to the sole protector of the snowy mountains, the lord of compassion, I pay homage. May his yoga be developed in clarity and expansion. Secondly, the oral instructions of Jowo Kadampa, connected to the tradition of the accomplished Kyer Gangpa, the instructions on the all-pervading compassion of Avalokiteśvara, are divided into preliminary practices, main practices, and concluding practices. The first part is the preliminary practices, which are divided into common and uncommon. The common practices are explained according to the teaching manual of the Able One's view. The uncommon practices have five parts. First, taking refuge: In a secluded place, sit on a comfortable cushion with the qualities of meditative concentration. Visualize the ground transforming into a pure realm, in the center of which is a wish-fulfilling tree with five branches. On the central branch, on a lion throne, lotus, and moon cushion, is the lama in the form of Avalokiteśvara Khasarpaṇi, surrounded by the assembly of lineage lamas. On the branch in front is four-armed Avalokiteśvara, surrounded by the assembly of yidam deities. On the right branch is the Buddha, with the form of a treasure chest behind him. On the left branch is the sangha of the Great and Small Vehicles. In the spaces between, visualize the assembly of dakinis and dharma protectors filling the space. With oneself and all sentient beings, with great reverence in body, speech, and mind, take refuge with single-pointed attention. Recite the extensive refuge formula: I and all sentient beings take refuge in the virtuous guide, the lamas! I take refuge in the source of accomplishments, the yidam deities! I take refuge in the essence of the three kayas, the Buddhas! I take refuge in the profound, peaceful, free from elaboration, sacred dharma! I take refuge in the sangha who are on the grounds and paths! I take refuge in the protectors who dispel all obstacles! Or, in brief: In the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, accumulate hundreds of thousands of merits. Second, generating bodhicitta: With all sentient beings as the object of your mind, may all sentient beings, as vast as the sky, be placed in the state of unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. For that purpose, I will practice the profound yoga of the path of the noble Avalokiteśvara. From this day forward, until enlightenment,

May I, in a moment of undisturbed peace, Be diligent day and night in virtuous deeds, In the nature of aspiration and engagement. In brief, I recite generosity and so forth. The third is the mandala: Arrange it well according to the practice. If elaborate, like the Jetari and the Non-Dual Vajra Armor from the Hundred Short Dharmas. If that much is not possible, from the thirty-seven heaps to the seven heaps, take the actual arrangement as the cause, visualize the cloud of Samantabhadra's offerings arising from it, and offer it many times, completing the accumulations for oneself and others. Light radiates from the body, purifying sins and obscurations. All beings go to the pure land. Again, with devotion, visualize the object of refuge dissolving into light and merging into oneself. The fourth is Vajrasattva meditation and recitation: From emptiness, on a lotus and moon cushion, the white syllable Hūṃ(藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽)radiates light and gathers, oneself appearing as the body of Vajrasattva, clear but without inherent existence. At the heart, on the moon, the syllable Hūṃ(藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽)is surrounded by the hundred-syllable mantra, radiating light, filling the body, purifying sins and obscurations. The light radiates outwards, purifying the suffering and obscurations of the six realms. It gathers back and dissolves into oneself, contemplating this and remaining in equanimity in the clear appearance. Recite the hundred-syllable mantra as much as possible. Finally, rest in non-objectification. The fifth is the Guru Yoga: On the crown of one's head, on a lion throne and lotus-moon cushion, the root guru is Chenrezig (Avalokiteśvara), with a white body, one face, and two arms. The right hand grants blessings, the left holds a white lotus. The legs are in the vajra posture. Adorned with silks and jewels, immeasurable rays of light radiate. From the three places, three seed syllables radiate light. Invite all worthy of offerings and visualize them dissolving. Offer with the mind. Praise with "untainted by faults" and so forth. With one-pointed devotion, pray to the lineage, and "All sentient beings equal to the sky, take refuge in the Guru Chenrezig." Repeat as much as possible. Finally, from the three places of the guru, three syllables radiate white, red, and blue light, a stream of nectar descends, dissolving into one's own three places. The entire body is filled with the stream of light and nectar. The defilements of the three doors are purified. The blessings of body, speech, and mind enter. Finally, the guru dissolves into light, merging into oneself, so that the guru's three secrets and one's own three doors...
