Sixteenth Volume of Instructions Treasury. A Concise Commentary on the Essence of the Mahamudra Mind at Rest Treatise Spoken by Noble Avalokiteśvara to the Great Accomplisher Mitra Joki. A Concise Commentary on the Essence of the Mahamudra Mind at Rest Treatise Spoken by Noble Avalokiteśvara to the Great Accomplisher Mitra Joki, is complete. Oṃ Svasti Siddham. Having bowed with reverence to the supreme Lama, the treasure of compassion, the protector of the world, I will briefly compile the essential commentary on the Mind at Rest treatise. There are two parts to this: the history and the actual instructions. The first is that the emanation of Noble Avalokiteśvara, the great accomplished Mitra Joki, who is widely known in the world, was born as a royal in a large city in the eastern part of the noble land of India, in the region of Radha. From a young age, his noble lineage was fully awakened, and he abandoned the kingdom like spittle, and went forth into the Dharma. At that time, the twenty wonderful stories of his attainment of accomplishment, which became ornaments in the ears of the noble and wise, are as follows: Initially, he followed Rolpe, the direct disciple of Tilopa, and practiced at Khasarpani for twelve years, on a vajra wood mandala as smooth as a mirror, Noble Avalokiteśvara appeared visibly with his retinue and taught the Dharma, He attained accomplishment, this is the first. His name is Ajita Mitra Gupta, meaning invincible hidden friend. The one-haired woman taught the path of means, and whatever was desired, everything appeared by praying in front of the wooden seat, this is the second. In Odantapuri, twelve thousand sangha members resided, and due to internal discord, the Bur King took one side and led an army to attack, he threw a wheel, and all the soldiers were terrified and fled. The sangha and the monastery were unharmed, this is the third. During the reign of King Singhavahana, the Varanasi army, like dust obscuring the sun, attempted to destroy the Buddha's teachings in Magadha, he went naked and roared, and the earth shook.

He made all the trees and livestock stiff, and the king offered repentance and reversed the stiffness again, which is the fourth story. The king established the four divisions of Grags-pa-sde-bzhi as witnesses, and gave gold coins from the wooden seat. If Buddhists convert to heretics, if the wooden seat cannot be moved, then heretics convert to Buddhism, and a penalty is imposed. The wooden seat was thrown on a wide plain, but it could not be moved even slightly, so the heretics were brought into the doctrine, which is the fifth story. A king named Upatra covered the mouth of a pit of filth with a cloth and had the lama sit on it, and the lama fell into the pit. The mouth was blocked with many pieces of wood and stones, and the lama appeared in the marketplace and said, "Please invite me from here to the king's palace." The king regretted it and took the lama's feet with his head, which is the sixth story. Later, that king had a pyre of wood lit and had the lama sit on it, and even though it was burned for three days, it did not burn, which is the seventh story. The king of Varanasi spoke the fifth profound verse, and a rain of flowers fell from the sky. A son of the gods showed the vision of offering a vase of nectar, which is the eighth story. When the king requested empowerment, he instructed that all the colored powders must be made of precious jewels. The king suspected that he had been deceived by magic and felt regret, so he rose into the sky and showed himself dwelling in the midst of the clouds, which is the ninth story. Then, after praying for seven days with intense regret, he appeared on top of a pond, which is the tenth story. Then, the king offered sixteen hundred thousand cities as provisions for the lama, and the lama built a house of charity and gave alms for three years. After three years, he disappeared without a trace, which is the eleventh story. Then, near the place of Southern Kuru Vihara, he subdued two Yakshas who were eating one old man and one young man from the city every day. He also built a temple, which is the twelfth story. In order to increase the faith of the Sangha, he performed miracles, and all the birds of the sky came into his hands and listened to his commands, which is the thirteenth story. The chief of Varanasi, eighty-four kings, although the lama did not speak to them, they only had a meeting of minds, and they developed the concept of skeletons and went to the forest, and their minds were completely liberated from worldly concepts, which is the fourteenth story. Then, King Dza
