Sixteenth Volume of Instructions Treasury. A teaching on resting one's own mind, spoken to the great accomplished Mitra Joki by the noble Avalokiteshvara. Sixteenth Volume of Instructions Treasury. A teaching on resting one's own mind, spoken to the great accomplished Mitra Joki by the noble Avalokiteshvara. A teaching on resting one's own mind, spoken to the great accomplished Mitra Joki by the noble Avalokiteshvara, is present. Om Svasti. This twenty-five verse teaching on resting one's own mind has three parts: the head, the body, and the tail. The first part has two sections: stating the title and the translator's homage. The first is: In the language of India: Svacitta viśramopadeśa pañcaviṃśati gāthā. In Tibetan: A teaching on resting one's own mind, twenty-five verses. The second is: Homage to glorious Vajrasattva. The third part begins: ༈ First, the introduction to the three ways of abiding: Emaho! One's own mind is primordially unborn, having the cause of samsara and nirvana. It is not other than from the center of one's own heart, known from the mouth of the lama. Whatever arises is inherently so, whatever appears, without speaking of it with thoughts, that appearing is in emptiness itself, the king of yogis will not be devoured by demons. Whatever appears is all that, that is what has not appeared in anything. Therefore, whatever arises is unborn, the unborn is the manner of arising. ༈ Second, the introduction to the three similes: Extending the right hand, contracting the left, making the threatening mudra, looking with the vajra gaze, the excellent horse slowly comes and goes, abiding in one place from many places. Placing the feet on the great ocean, wandering everywhere on the earth with the hands, the two eyes should look at the sky, the mind does not waver in anything. Like the coquettish gestures of a seductive woman, like the majesty of a queen, like servants and prostitutes, be alone, accompanied by a friend. ༈ Third, the introduction to the three similes of outer, inner, and intermediate: Like a tiger and a lion, an elephant, like a cow, a high seat, a monkey, like a sandalwood tree, a corpse, the wise should practice emptiness yoga. Like a steep mountain, water, and a great ocean, like a mother with one child and an elephant driver, like a snow mountain and crystal, if it becomes the object of focus, it is a stable foundation. The order is first, middle, and last, root, essence, and non-action, like a dream

Like a lamp. Compassion unwavering, habit accomplished. Fourth, the introduction to the three kinds of breakthrough. Coming, going, and dwelling are the birth place of cessation. Purity, emptiness, is the three aspects. Great bliss, luminosity, Non-conceptual. The virtuous ones abide in equanimity. Place great compassion in front. Without distraction, constantly observe that. Through the union of deities and gurus, the practitioner finds rest. Son, where do you discriminate? Here, I am neither bound nor liberated. Without distraction, without fabrication, naturally and freely. Alas, weary one, rest! Fifth, the introduction to the three unions. Images, forms, and the echo of rocks. Reality and dreams are memories. Related to samadhi, it is the union of meditating on exhaustion. Individual thoughts and dependent origination, constantly and continuously meditate. Like gold, like fire, like the sky. It is the knower, the pacifier, the purifier. Non-appearance, that appearance appears due to conditions. Like the sky, a mirror, clear glass. It is samadhi and wisdom. Through the door of dharani, one realizes that. Sixth, the introduction to the three doors. Seeing, samadhi, luminosity. At that time, see that, that is unborn. Extremely non-conceptual, abiding in one-pointedness. Free from the dust of distraction. Wherever the wind goes, the mind goes there. That body is imprisoned within the house. If the man of mind is killed, without that, where will the mind go? All nature is unfabricated. All thoughts are under the power of conditions. If one knows those three natures, then thoughts become non-thoughts. Seventh, the introduction to the three negations and affirmations. When seeing establishes and destroys, the thought of non-existence is exhausted. In this, there is originally nothing at all. Son, meditate on the sky! Camphor and its scent. Mutually, that is without this, and this is without that. Likewise, condition and conditionlessness, not separately, meditate freely. Stop movement with an equal mind. Bind with unequal memory. At that time, purity and freedom abide equally. Then one can kill conceptual thoughts. Eighth, the introduction to the four empowerments. After bathing, put on the clothes of the sky. Burn conceptual thoughts. Place the ashes of memory on the shore. Purify them together with the river! Outer world, inner beings, wind currents, stability, movement, space. Sun, moon, Rahu, constellations hold. Fire
