The Fifteenth Volume of the Damngak Dzö. Instructions on Recitation and Accomplishment The Fifteenth Volume of the Damngak Dzö Instructions on Recitation and Accomplishment Herein are the Instructions on Recitation and Accomplishment. This is the instruction manual called "The Recitation and Accomplishment of the Three Vajras," which reveals the complete and profound meaning of all the precious tantras. I respectfully bow and take refuge in the feet of the mother, Vajrayogini, who gives rise to all the Sugatas, and the great accomplished master. Here, firstly, there is the recitation of the Body Vajra, which purifies the body's channels, with individual gathering and contemplation. Secondly, there is the accomplishment of the Speech Vajra, which purifies the speech's winds, bestowing and holding life. Thirdly, there is the great accomplishment of the Mind Vajra, which purifies the mind's bindu, and these are the three. Furthermore, in a place that is conducive to the mind, having properly established a dark room, and having gathered the necessary equipment while abandoning wrong livelihood, after completing the preliminaries of refuge, remembrance, samadhi, and the generation of bodhichitta, one should meditate when the life-force descends into the right channel. The order of practicing the meaning of "Seventy-two thousand channels' essence, in the expanse of the sky, the planets are bound firmly" is as follows: The upper posture binds the upper wind, the lower posture binds the lower wind, and the middle posture binds the middle wind. First, one should perform the vajra posture. The hands should hold the vajra fists and press on the thighs. The eyes should gaze in the manner of the vajra topknot, and the five sense doors should be strictly guarded. Without holding onto any object of focus, all thoughts of wanting to meditate should be rejected. One should not even have the desire for experiences or signs, and the mind should not cling to any support. Without the mind grasping onto anything, one should remain undistracted in a non-conceptual state. By abandoning the five senses into the essence, if the winds of the root and branches, and the thoughts, are restrained within, then non-conceptual samadhi will arise, and empty forms such as smoke will be seen. Moreover, when meditating in darkness, cutting off the speech of the three times, without any fabrication, the eyes should not blink, and the eyeballs should not move, but one should remain staring blankly. At times, in that very appearance of darkness, the eye sense

And place awareness in a state of non-fabrication. Also, during session breaks, in the expanse of sky that appears in front, spread the sense faculty of the eye and awareness. From a state of non-distraction, rest without meditating. If you properly grasp the key point of non-distraction and effortless effort, experience will arise naturally. If you don't grasp it, even if you immediately generate hasty effort, it may become an obstacle to meditation, so grasping the key point is crucial. Second, starting with the lower lotus posture, this practice of "on the ocean, gather the three channels and branches," possesses the five qualities of meditation. Directly bind the lower two, tighten the four limbs, curl the toes. Straighten the spine. Gradually tighten the area below the navel. Look downwards with the posture of Vairochana, and rest in non-conceptualization. By meditating in this way, the lower part eliminates the faults of the upper part, and meditating on the upper lotus posture eliminates the faults of the lower part. Third, to unite the upper and lower, meditate on the middle lotus posture. The body possesses the five qualities of meditation. Slightly straighten the chest, push the navel outwards, and meditate diligently. It eliminates obstacles of both the upper and lower parts, and has immeasurable qualities. Fourth, next is the yoga of the sun. In a place where you can see the vast sky, turn your back to the sun, maintain the posture of the body and the abiding of the mind as before, and meditate. The signs of the day will increase. Thus, all the various appearances of signs must be recognized as the essence of clear and empty awareness. All the phenomena of the ground, path, and fruition are inseparable from the appearance of one's own mind. The appearance of signs is unceasing and clear, which is the characteristic of the mind. Its nature abides in emptiness, so the nature of the inseparability of appearance and emptiness is recognized as being like the moon in water or the reflection in a mirror. The measure of accomplishment is giving the supreme words, such as "May fire and demons be pacified," thus achieving pacification and so on. Knowing the five senses and the five objects to be inseparable, appearing as the five deity forms, these are the ten signs of meditation. The branches are: wisdom, discrimination, conduct, joy, and unwavering bliss, these are the
