Minister Jewel, to the west is Horse Supreme Jewel, to the north is Queen Jewel, to the southeast is Wheel, to the southwest is Jewel, to the northwest is General, to the northeast is Treasure Vase. Inside, to the east is the sun, to the west is the moon. Arrange these in a cluster. The meaning of offering is: Mount Meru in the center, surrounded by the four continents and eight subcontinents, the sun and moon revolve around it, surrounded by the outer iron fence, equal to the great universe. All of this is filled with Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, filled with countless gods and goddesses, such as the king of gods and the near king of gods. Countless human kings, small kings, men, women, boys, girls, etc., some singing, some dancing, some performing various beautiful games, some playing countless pleasant music. Furthermore, it is filled with countless treasures of gods and humans, filled with countless fine clothes of gods and humans, filled with countless foods of gods and humans. Also, the enjoyment of pure realms, the wish-fulfilling tree, the wish-granting cow, the wish-fulfilling jewel, uncultivated crops, the seven royal treasures, etc., filled with inconceivable desirable qualities of gods and humans. For the sake of all sentient beings, equal to the sky, offer the great cloud of Samantabhadra offerings to the Lama and the Sugatas of the three times, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Thus, may we obtain the accomplishment of all that is desired. Fifth, the instruction on relying on the three solitudes: Rely on bodily solitude, rely on speech solitude, rely on mind solitude. Among these, first is relying on bodily solitude, like this: From beginningless samsara until now, we have taken countless bodies and done countless deeds, but all that has been done has become meaningless samsara and the cause of conditioned aggregates, without producing any ultimate meaning. Therefore, from today onwards, rely on bodily solitude and train the body, that is, the external body does not engage in unwholesome actions, such as killing, taking what is not given, impurity.

It is necessary to be separated from all the evils caused by improper conduct. Moreover, it is necessary to be separated from all unpredicted actions, commercial profits, agricultural cultivation, deception, and quarrels. Therefore, do not elevate yourself, and it is necessary to be separated from all inner good deeds, such as circumambulation and physical fatigue. Walking, standing, sitting, and lying down, as well as all subtle activities, should be done slowly. The legs should be in the vajra posture or the lotus posture, the hands should be in the vajra fist mudra, placed on the thighs, the head should be straight, the eyes should not blink, the gaze should be fixed between the eyebrows, and the eyeballs should not move. Second, to make speech silent. From beginningless time until now, we have spoken countless words and made countless confessions, but all of these have become meaningless cycles of existence and causes of fabrication, without any real meaning. Therefore, from today onwards, subdue the breath by maintaining silence of speech. First, it is necessary to be separated from all the evils caused by the four unwholesome verbal actions, namely, lying, divisive speech, harsh speech, and idle chatter. Moreover, it is necessary to be separated from all unpredicted speech, jokes and laughter, meaningless talk, and hypocrisy. Therefore, do not let inner unwholesome recitations and celibacy become fatigue. During meditation, exhale three breaths slowly, and then meditate when the breath moves from left to right. Third, to make the mind silent. From beginningless samsara until now, we have been thinking, 'This has changed, that has not changed,' 'This is remembered, that is not remembered,' 'This is thought, that is not thought.' All these thoughts have become meaningless cycles of existence and causes of suffering, without any real meaning. Therefore, from today onwards, subdue the mind by maintaining silence of mind. That is, the external mind should be separated from unwholesome joy and aversion, greed.

Anger, malice, and wrong views, all negative thoughts led by these three must be abandoned. Moreover, the mind, neutral plans, memories of the past, anticipation of the future, and modifications and calculations of the present must all be abandoned. Therefore, do not let internal good thoughts, the distinctions between view, meditation, and action, and the scattering and gathering of common practices of cultivation control you. Do not fabricate anything in the mind, just stare blankly without attachment. Do not think anything in the mind, and focus without distraction. Let the mind be without hope and fear, and rest peacefully. At this time, plans about whether meditation will be accomplished, whether signs will appear, etc., are all faults of meditative contemplation. Do not follow these, but completely abandon them and cut off the causes. As it is said in the Great Commentary: Not relying on the enjoyment of the body, not relying on the enjoyment of speech, not relying on the enjoyment of the mind, not relying on the enjoyment of leaking pleasures. The three aspects of body, speech, and mind, and the vows of pure conduct are all fulfilled. Thus it is said. In this way, the preliminary practices should be done for a sufficient number of days. When practicing in this way, experiences will arise in the three aspects of body, speech, and mind. For beginners, at first, the three aspects of body, speech, and mind will become lazy due to fatigue, exhausted, with aching joints, pain and blockage in the chest, feeling that the body is about to collapse, unbearable, and often yawning, wanting to sleep, feeling numb and trembling, having difficulty breathing, and making rapid sounds. On the mental side, one cannot control the many thoughts, and feels distressed because one cannot get rid of these thoughts. Sometimes thoughts cannot enter the object, the flow of thoughts stops, and one feels that consciousness is more dull and foolish than before, forgetful, not knowing what one is doing, and staring blankly unconsciously. At this time, if the darkness is slightly dispelled and some signs appear, one should rely on the three solitary places and accomplish the meaning of the three places of practice.
