Gadams ngag dzod pod bcu gsum pa. Great Seal Cutting Instructions Opening the Door of the Sky. The body is like a reflection in water, empty and without grasping. Speech is unobstructed, resounding with the empty voice of Brahma. The mind is unwavering, profound like a vajra. I bow to the feet of the one who possesses these qualities, unparalleled. The nature of reality is primordially pure and spontaneously accomplished. The meaning transcends words, thoughts, and expressions, beyond all realms. Untainted by the marks of elaboration, I prostrate to the Mother Prajnaparamita. With a mind that enters into the meaning of emptiness, the essence of the condensed practice of Chod, for the near need of empowerment, I will speak the blessing and permission of the Torma, and explain the meaning of the text as it is. The instructions of the Great Seal Chod practice, the secret instructions for opening the door of the sky. This blessing instruction has four meanings: preliminaries, application, main practice, and conclusion. First, the place is a charnel ground, or a remote area, or under a single tree, or an island in a lake, etc. In short, in a secluded and pleasant place, decorate the dwelling and arrange the supports for body, speech, and mind. Arrange five or seven mandala offerings. Arrange five or three Tormas, and whatever offerings and gathering equipment are available. These are the preliminary steps. There are five applications: generating the Samaya Being, inviting the Wisdom Being, offering a seat and making praises, offering the body as a gathering and making supplications, offering the Torma and making praises. First, some practitioners have the practice of offering Tormas to obstacles in order to pacify them, but this Dharma transforms obstacles into support, so it is not in the practice of the all-knowing Dharma Lord's lineage, so it should not be done. Then, if the students know the meaning of emptiness, they should be made to meditate. If they do not know, it is good to just recite the Gata. It is not a fault if it is not done. Then, sit comfortably on your seat, and arrange the Damaru, the smoke of Nisang, the bell, etc. in front of you. For the benefit of all sentient beings equal to space, meditate on the meaning of emptiness and Prajnaparamita, so say these words in your hand: All you patrons and benefactors, we teachers, students, and retinues
