Not understanding the good and bad feelings that arise from the unplaced mind becomes a binding. Under its influence, one becomes the Lord of Death, afflictions, and the demon of the aggregates. Taking delight in the subtle qualities of the path as being coarse is the demon of the sons of gods. Knowing that all of these arise from unreal thoughts, one should practice their antidote: the absence of conceptual elaboration. In the ultimate truth, there is no established entity of gods and demons as harming and being harmed, self and other, samsara and nirvana. Even in the relative truth, there is no conceptualization; it appears without inherent existence, like a dream. Having understood this, one should meditate without thinking, without examining, without scattering, and without gathering. Abiding in this is the intention of the Buddhas, as stated in all the sutras and tantras. This is the instruction of having no mindfulness and no mental activity. Secondly, the instruction of separating body and mind has two parts. The blessing of opening the door to the sky is known elsewhere. For constant meditation, the key point of the body is to be comfortable, whether sitting or standing. At the soles of one's feet, visualize the essence of wind and mind as a white bindu, appearing but without inherent existence, like the moon in water, about the size of a bird's egg. Then, gradually radiate it from the crown of the head, merging into the sky, and say "ཕཊ་" (Tibetan, Devanagari: फट, Romanized Sanskrit: phaṭ, Literal Chinese meaning: snap). Whatever one does in the four activities (walking, standing, sitting, lying down), one should not engage in any conceptualization in the mind, remaining unmoved from that non-conceptual state. This is the instruction of separating body and mind. Now, the third is abandoning the aggregates of practice as food, the activity of conceptual elaboration, which has two aspects: the root and the branches. Firstly, when beginners experience fear, shyness, or thoughts of gods and demons, or if attachment and clinging to the body arise, one should abandon oneself as food. Visualize one's own body as white and round, as much as one can imagine. In front, clearly visualize all beings, primarily the eight classes of non-humans who harm oneself, karmic creditors, and so on, and generate the following intention: From beginningless samsara, due to ignorance, I have taken countless bodies, but they have all been meaningless. Even in this life, this body, from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet, is full of thirty-six impure substances.

This phenomenon, formed by duality and quickly decaying, now, in order to obtain its essence, and for myself and all sentient beings equal to the extent of space, to perfect the paramita of generosity, I resolve to give the gift of my body. Imagine cutting off your own head and discarding it among those demons. Likewise, discard and give away all the five organs, six viscera, limbs, and so on. Those who like to eat meat, eat meat; those who like to drink blood, drink blood. To those who like bones, skin, legs, brains, senses, organs, and so on, give these to them and think that you have obtained it. Then, place the object of generosity, the giver himself, and the object of generosity—the body—all in a state of non-attachment. This is the conduct of bodhisattvas. The "Compendium" says: Giving up head, hands, and feet, there is no shrinking mind. Knowing all dharmas to be empty and like illusion, if one is happy to completely give away one's own flesh, then what need is there to mention giving away external objects? This is the general offering of food. The specific offering of food is: for whatever sickness or the like arises, visualize and cut it off, and offer it many times. Afterward, abide in the state of reality as before. The second branch of that is: in order to eliminate obstacles such as dispelling evil spirits and diseases, circumambulate in a charnel ground, practicing as it is said in "Cutting Through Delusion" and the "Seven Key Instructions." That is, when going to a place where non-humans roam or travel, it is best to go without hesitation from dusk; the intermediate goes during the day and stays wherever is comfortable; the lowest should carefully observe before staying. In general, if one cannot cut off the clinging to self, others, gods, demons, faults, and virtues with conceptual thoughts, then even going to a charnel ground is useless. If conceptual thoughts are cut off, then it is the same wherever one stays. However, if one goes to places where fierce gods and demons reside, there is a danger that they will be unable to bear it and will make you their food, thus causing various illusions to arise. To this, the best is to recognize these as illusions of the mind and abide in non-reality; the intermediate separates body and mind; the lowest offers food as before and practices, so that adverse conditions turn into accomplishment. Because all are known to be illusions of the mind, there is no fear of anything.
