Should be done, this is the fourth point of focus. Second is to learn uncertain ways of looking, to learn various Dharma practices, and to combine with various ways of behavior. The first is: the way of looking with the eyes, high and near like the bottom of a pillar, far away like the top of a mountain or the sky, keeping it equal, this is the fifth point of focus. Low and near like next to a wall, far away like the mountainside, keeping it equal, this is the sixth point of focus. Straight ahead, near like against a wall, far away like against a mountain, keeping it equal, this is the seventh point of focus. The second is: reciting scriptures, reciting mantras, the meaning of combining with various conversations is to first combine with scriptures that are proficient in recitation, etc., gradually combine with all recitations, do as much as possible, this is the eighth point of focus. First combine with short mantras, then combine with all recitations, this is the ninth point of focus. First combine with sounds such as water sounds, then combine with the noise of many people and closing doors, etc., then combine with other people speaking, and when that sound is clear and loud, remain focused, this is the tenth point of focus. The third is to learn various ways of behavior, even when eating, maintain a natural state, when walking, practice in the same way, and when speaking, do not leave the natural state. First practice on things that do not require effort and are not very important, and eventually you will master everything. Similarly, for the objects of happiness and suffering, like and dislike, and shyness, shame, disgust, etc., which generate high and low thoughts, practice by combining them with a natural state. Everything will also enter the state of virtuous practice as before, this is the eleventh point of focus. Thus, there are eleven points of focus for calm abiding. The second is the guidance of insight, searching for the mind, if according to the oral instructions of the guru, explain in detail, first, as before, abide in the three essentials in a relaxed state, this is the prerequisite for all practices. The main practice has seven points of focus: searching for the nature of the mind, searching for arising and ceasing, searching for object appearance, searching for thoughts, searching for the difference between the existence and non-existence of object appearance, searching for the difference between the existence and non-existence of thoughts, and finally determining the nature of reality. The first is: roughly observing and analyzing in detail the nature of the mind, starting to enter, where the effort naturally disappears.

Once an inexpressible experience arises, naturally abide in it, this is the first contemplation sequence. The second is: observe the non-conceptual mind, is it a constant and stable thing that never arises or ceases? Or is it an empty nothingness that arises and ceases? If it arises and ceases, how does it arise? If it abides, how does it abide? What are its color, shape, etc.? Where is it, inside or outside? If it ceases, how does it cease? Etc., after careful observation, settle into the ungraspable. This is the second contemplation sequence. The third is: when the eyes see an object, observe what is the essence of the clearly visible object. Are it and the clear awareness of the mind one? Or are they different? Analyze carefully what the difference is. Similarly, apply it to the ears hearing sounds, etc. This is the third contemplation sequence. The fourth is: again, observe what is the difference between the thoughts that arise through conceptualization and the nature of the mind? Observe whether these two are one or not one. When conceptual thoughts arise, how do they arise? When they have arisen and not yet ceased, how do they exist? When they cease, how do they cease? Observe carefully, this is the fourth contemplation sequence. The fifth is: observe what is the difference between the mind when the eyes see an object and the mind when they do not see an object? If there is, how does it exist? If there is not, how does it not exist? This is the fifth contemplation sequence. The sixth is: carefully observe the good and bad, clear and unclear, empty and not empty, differences between the mind when conceptual thoughts arise and when they do not arise. These four methods of searching will eventually lead to the disappearance of the target, therefore abide in that state, this is the ninth contemplation sequence. The seventh is: determine that all appearances are your own mind. Observe the mind carefully, find that there is nothing to grasp, and abide in that state. Searching further, although there is nothing to grasp, it is not empty nothingness, but the naked awareness emptiness that manifests various phenomena in emptiness, vivid and sparkling, clearly experienced, inexpressible, settle into this, this is the seventh contemplation sequence. Thus, there are seven for vipassanā. There are eighteen contemplation sequences for the three, preliminary, main practice, and concluding practice. The lama of Kyungpo, Niguma, mainly emphasized the preliminary practice, Maitripa mainly emphasized the main practice, the lineage of Sukhasiddhi.
