The Eleventh Volume of the Treasury of Pith Instructions: The Vajra Verses of Blessing Radiance, Recitations of the Preliminary and Subsequent Practices of the Profound Path, the Five Golden Dharmas, Transmitted from the Wisdom Dakini Niguma. The Eleventh Volume of the Treasury of Pith Instructions. The Vajra Verses of Blessing Radiance, Recitations of the Preliminary and Subsequent Practices of the Profound Path, the Five Golden Dharmas, Transmitted from the Wisdom Dakini Niguma. Herein concludes the book called The Vajra Verses of Blessing Radiance, Recitations of the Preliminary and Subsequent Practices of the Profound Path, the Five Golden Dharmas, Transmitted from the Wisdom Dakini Niguma. The essence of the sixth, the supreme method, the wise consort Niguma, with the union's precious lineage, may you guide us until enlightenment. The vajra's secret words, beryl, adorned with the craftsmanship of intelligence, untouched, with the glory of blessing, this is the most precious of all the golden dharmas. Those fortunate ones who have obtained leisure and endowment, do not waste it, and desire to attain the state of Vajradhara in one lifetime, should engage in this practice. Moreover, as it says in the vajra verses: Ripened by the four empowerments, endowed with faith and diligence, with impermanence, renunciation, and faults as preliminaries, whoever strives on this supreme path, will attain enlightenment in six months or in this lifetime. As it is said, having ripened the mind-stream with empowerments and blessings, and having faith and diligence as the foundation, when engaging in actual practice, first, in accordance with the general stages of instruction, it is extremely important to purify the mind-stream by reversing the four thoughts, so any words that clarify this can be recited. Here, only a brief outline is given: Thinking about the difficulty of finding leisure and endowment: Possessing eight freedoms and ten endowments, the human body is far superior to the gods, like a poor person finding a jewel, through many means such as reasons, numbers, and examples, it is difficult to find except for this time. This too is like an impermanent bubble, when it quickly disintegrates, other than the Dharma, nothing at all is beneficial, so meditate on the profound path, the essence of all. Thinking about impermanence: The outer world is destroyed by fire and water, the seasons change in an instant, everything is impermanent, bound by the four extremes, there is not one who is born and does not die. Life is like lightning and dew, tomorrow and the next life, it is uncertain which will come first, if you do not practice when you remember the sacred Dharma, then the demon of laziness and distraction will...

Take it away! Because you have to go naked and empty-handed, quickly practice the excellent Dharma. Thinking about karma and its results: At the time of death, even if you have the power of a universal monarch, it will be left behind, and you will wander alone in the bardo. The ripening of black and white karma follows like a body and its shadow. Actions that have been done will not be wasted, and actions that have not been done will not be encountered. Actions increase and change, and the fruits of virtue and evil, happiness, suffering, and sorrow, ripen without deception on the doer. This world is momentary, and samsara is endlessly long. Now, do not bring about your own destruction, generally believe in karma and its results, and especially protect vows and commitments, and do not let your mindstream be stained by sins. Thinking about the faults of samsara: From the peak of existence to the Avici hell, all the high and low places of samsara are like a pit of fire, a forest of razors, with no opportunity for happiness. You have already wandered in samsara that much before, and the wheel of ignorance has no end. Now, with unbearable sorrow and strong renunciation, urge your mindstream and enter the path of eternal happiness and liberation, follow in the footsteps of the predecessors, and attain Buddhahood in one lifetime. These words do not have to be recited completely at the beginning of each practice session, but can be expressed orally according to the situation, and their meaning can be contemplated in the mind. Do not let your mindstream become rigid, and be sure to turn your mind to the excellent Dharma. This is the first step in practicing the Dharma, so it is very important. The preliminary practices are two: common and uncommon. The first is refuge and bodhicitta, of which taking refuge is: Sit upright on a comfortable cushion, calm your mind, and in order to clarify the characteristics of this profound path, the essential points of the unified refuge practice: The earth is transformed into a pure and vast realm. In the sky in front, on a lion throne, lotus, and sun and moon cushions, the root guru himself, his body bright and radiant, blazing with glory. The Buddhas, Dharma, and Sangha are all gathered together, the guru, yidam, dakinis, and dharma protectors, the master of all, the gathering of all, the precious guru. I and my parents in this life, enemies, harmers, obstacles, local deities, and earth lords, with them as the main ones, the infinite six realms of beings, all tormented by unbearable and intense suffering, seek refuge from you.
