The Sapa instruction on meditation is: Since aggregates, elements, and sense bases are deities by nature, there is no need for transformative meditation on forms. By recognizing one's own nature, artificial pretense collapses, and the appearance of all-pervading illusion arises, which is the very suchness of the deity. Since wind and mantra are in union, there is no need for counting recitations. By recognizing one's own nature, karmic winds are purified, and the arising of an indestructible sound is the very suchness of mantra. Since thoughts are the self-radiance of emptiness, there is no need for artificial embellishment. By recognizing one's own nature, the grasping and the grasped of delusion dissolve, and the arising of non-deluded bliss is the very suchness of wisdom. Although these three are said to be different, they abide in union, so there is no need to mix them through conceptual thought. By cultivating them extensively, they dissolve into the ground, which is the very suchness of self. Thirteenth, arranging interdependence is: Outwardly, with the body, bear the three—good, bad, and middling—on the crown of the head. With speech, utter only pleasant words to all. With mind, train in pure appearances that tolerate wrong views. Inwardly, on the body, arrange the interdependence of the vajra body, so the result appears as the nirmanakaya. On the speech, the sambhogakaya of vajra speech. On the mind, the dharmakaya of vajra mind. Secretly, by arranging the interdependence of bliss and emptiness as equality, inwardly, clarity and emptiness are of one taste. From that, outwardly, appearance and emptiness are of one taste. Thus, at the time of fruition, from the mind, speech appears; from the speech, the body. Thus, both one's own and others' benefit are accomplished. Fourteenth, making aspirations is: With heightened intention, at the end of all virtuous deeds, dedicate them entirely with the long aspiration prayer explained herein or with the aspiration prayer of the Excellent Conduct. Third, the conclusion is: Meditate on all the deity assembly, together with their supports, and one's own body, speech, and mind as inseparable, like salt dissolving into water, and abide in equipoise. Finally, arise with the motivation that all actions are for the benefit of others. Thus, this instruction on the seven branches of heart practice, which is gathered as the essence of what should be practiced, was composed by the monk Pema Karpo at the royal palace of the tomb of Songtsen Gampo, at the request of the master and meditator Yazaṅpa Paljor Drakpa, who speaks on the vast expanse of scriptures. May it be auspicious! In the eyes of the world, who can skillfully wield it? Now all have passed away.

He acted virtuously in accordance with the Dharma. The one who has subdued pride and afflictions is called a monk. He is renowned solely in the scriptures of the son of Śuddhodana. The All-Seeing One, considering desire as the cause of faults, Instructed his disciples to abandon it. Lacking superior wealth, in this age, among practitioners of the Dharma, Fearing not being included, they rely on doubt and distortion. The beings of the degenerate age do not know the falsity of joy. Also, they are not familiar with attachment to this life. Not included among the masses, my excellent Lama, Hides in a solitary mountain, without attachment, his mind towards peace.
