The Tenth Volume of the Instructions Treasury. An Ornament that Beautifies the Eight Great Instructions. The Tenth Volume of the Instructions Treasury. An Ornament that Beautifies the Eight Great Instructions. This is the treatise called "An Ornament that Beautifies the Eight Great Instructions." Called "An Ornament that Beautifies the Eight Great Instructions." I respectfully prostrate to the immaculate lotus feet of the glorious Drukpa father and sons. To the World Protector, the supreme refuge, the incomparable one, who is tamed, pacified, and always mindful. To all the descendants of the Thubwang (Buddha Shakyamuni) and their sons, and to the non-dual Kagyu lineage, I prostrate. With the light of various skillful means of good deeds, may the glorious, fearless, and victorious friend who overcomes the darkness of ignorance in this world protect us here. In this ocean of samsara, a pond of Dharma is stirred by the winds of wrong views. Some knowledgeable beings wandering in the island of demonic heretics should escape by riding this supreme vehicle of liberation. Most people are exhausted from following the mirages of non-Dharma in the great plain of suffering. May they drink this Dharma ocean of unfathomable depth and be completely satisfied. Here, in the land of Tibet, these eight great instructions, which the great accomplished masters of the glorious Drukpa tradition are famous for, have been personally practiced by the powerful yogis and have become the object of practice for fortunate individuals. They are the secret essence of all the Sugata's scriptures. To explain them, I will begin by mentioning some of the necessary preliminaries, such as devotion to the lama, Mahamudra, the Six Dharmas of the great Naropa, and the instructions on secret conduct, reversal, and meditation, which are extensively presented from the beginning. The latter ones were originally composed in brief by Lord Drowai Gonpo Gyarepa They were then expanded by Gyalwa Godtsangpa Even more extensively, they were composed by Gyalwa Yang Gonpa (རྒྱལ་བ་ཡང་དགོན་པ,1213-1258) and the great accomplished master Orgyenpa Rinchen Pal, and others. Here, the profound essence and the excellent explanations composed by the glorious Gyalwang are very numerous. In terms of lineage, it seems best to consider this lineage as the main one. Furthermore, in the lineage of Mahamudra, this Kagyu

The perfect lamas with the combination of your own Dharma and politics, starting from Naropa, to Dombipa, Jowo Je, and successively transmitted from his disciple Gonpawa, saying that Dakpo heard the word transmission, and the meaning transmission is from Naropa to Marpa and Milarepa, Dakpo. To this, we say: Since this is the case, the great master of speech, Sakya Pandita Kunga Gyaltsen Pal Zangpo, said: Abandoning the six dharmas and practicing the Lamdre, etc., as well as the Mahamudra, etc., practicing the oral instructions of others, but following the lineage of Naropa, not to mention contradicting others, it is also contradictory to one's own system. This statement is irrefutable. Furthermore, some people think that Mahamudra is the oral instruction of the Sutra aspect, and they also say this to others. Since this is the case, you consider it a fault to say that there is nothing higher than the view of Madhyamaka in the words of the great Sakya Pandita, and you measure the intention of the wise, which is as vast as the sky, with a few modified words, which is a lack of wisdom. Others say: Not to mention that they have not gained certainty about the meaning of "Kagyu Mahamudra, the confluence of two rivers," but that they have not established certainty with valid cognition. Not only that, but they also say that the view is contrary to the commitment, and only say that it is emptiness. And they say that our precious Kagyu view is like this, and that what most other speakers say is wrong. This is because they have not ascertained the unsurpassed yoga of Vajrayana. I admit that Mahamudra is the complete stage of tantra, and that the lineage is transmitted from Lord Milarepa. If you say it without reason, the former is the great majority of the venerable lamas of this Kagyu lineage, and the latter is what is said in the Mahamudra verses of Phagmo Drupa. In more detail, my great kind root guru, glorious Lord of Speech, established it with vast sutra and tantra teachings, and the unequaled Victorious One said it, but I will not elaborate on it here for fear of being verbose. Therefore, in order to make it easier for future generations to enter, I have briefly cut and said what is to be said, and bestowed it.
