Is the king. Without action, he is the king of enjoyment. Without hope and doubt, the fruit will manifest. Thus it is taught. The venerable Naropa also said: Like this, if the view is not mistaken, meditation and conduct, if in accordance with reality, one will attain enlightenment, like a horse that shows the way. Again, if there is no correct view, effort will become meaningless. If the view does not accord with reality, meditation and conduct will become confused, and one will not obtain the fruit as it is, like a blind person without a target. Like this, abiding in oneself, the co-emergent Mahamudra, directly introducing the meaning of the inseparability of appearance and emptiness, meditating on the inseparability of emptiness and compassion, properly and truly experiencing calm abiding and insight, being free from the five opposing factors, not attending to the self-nature of non-conceptual samadhi, the order of the Mahamudra instructions, the oral instructions of Gonpo Dawa Shonnu, slightly expanded, Rangjung Dorje wrote without mixing his own thoughts and the words of the treatises. The Buddhas, in all the sutras and tantras, have spoken of the profound path of co-emergent union. That is Tilopa and Naropa, who condensed the oral instructions into meaning. Explaining separately for later learners. Some indicate according to experience. Some explain according to speculation. All of those are not bad, but only one-sided, therefore, here the meaning of co-emergent union, by the wise who know one and all are liberated, is distinguished by understanding language and meaning. By this virtue, may all sentient beings realize the co-emergent. This should be practiced together with the Six Dharmas. Written on the first day of the fifth month of the Wood Rat year (1924) in Dechen. Volume Six of the Treasury of Instructions, the instruction manual for the Co-emergent Union of Mahamudra.
