The Ultimate Great Seal Path by Kyemay Shang Rinpoche. Shang Rinpoche. The Ultimate Great Seal Path by Kyemay Shang Rinpoche. Shang Rinpoche. The Ultimate Great Seal Path by Kyemay Shang Rinpoche is present. I prostrate to the glorious and venerable supreme Gurus. Having bowed with reverence at the feet of the realized Guru, who is the ultimate empowerment of the compassionate activity of all Buddhas of the three times, I will write with joy, concisely, clearly, and without error, the essence of the essence of all the supreme vehicles of the Tripitaka and Tantras, the heart of all Sugatas, transmitted from heart to heart by the Lord of Yoga. Although I do not have the strength of learning and contemplation to benefit others, I, Tsondu Drakpa, urged by disciples who are respectful and intelligent followers of the sacred Dharma, Will explain what is to be realized by the fortunate and accomplished ones, the mother who gives birth to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the treasury of the hearts of the venerable lineage holders, The essence of all the scriptures, logic, and instructions, the ultimate meaning, the essence, the Dharmakaya, the essence of luminosity, naturally pure. Whether the Buddhas of the three times appear or not, whether the assembly of noble ones realize it or not, whether the Thubpas speak of it or not, whether the commentators explain it or not, the nature of reality, This luminosity, free from elaboration, is naturally pure, spontaneously present from the beginning, without increase or decrease. Just as the pure sky is not harmed, increased, or decreased, even though the world is destroyed and created, burned by fire, destroyed by wind, and harmed in countless eons, Just as the sunlight is naturally clear, but when obscured by clouds, it becomes dark, and when the clouds dissipate, it becomes clear, appearing to increase or decrease, but the essence of the sun cannot increase or decrease, So this unchanging Dharmakaya, which abides in this way, is not other than one's own mind. All kinds of samsara and nirvana arise in the mind. Not realizing one's own mind, one is disturbed by the illusion of reversal, And the suffering of samsara increases. When one realizes one's own mind, the great bliss of infinite wisdom of nirvana arises. Therefore, since everything arises from one's own mind, one's own mind is the nature of reality.

If one knows this, then the nature of all sentient beings can be known. Knowing that, one knows all dharmas, such as nirvana. Knowing all dharmas completely, one transcends all three realms. By knowing one thing, one becomes wise in all things. When the root falls, the branches and leaves naturally fall. Therefore, settle the single mind alone. This way of abiding of the self-mind, the seed of all, is from the very beginning no different from the minds of all the Buddhas and their heirs, and abides as the unborn dharmakaya. It is not material, self-knowing, clear by itself. It is not established as a thing, empty of color, shape, and size. It is not non-existent, appearing in various ways depending on conditions. It does not remain constant, empty of inherent nature. It is not annihilated, the very nature of self-luminosity. It is not established as a self, without essence when examined. It is not without self, the great essence free from elaboration. All extremes are not established, there is no grasping whatsoever. It is not established as the middle way, devoid of all dependence. There is no name of example and no object to be exemplified. It is like the example-less sky. It is not established as words, it cannot be expressed by speech. It is not without words, it is the source of all speech. Existence and non-existence, truth and falsehood, emptiness and non-emptiness, peace and non-peace, elaboration and non-elaboration, thinkable and unthinkable, happiness and suffering, having an object and not having an object, two and non-two, beyond mind and not beyond, solitude and non-solitude, established and not established, pure and impure, spontaneously accomplished and not accomplished. There is no end to expressing such collections of words. No matter how profound the collection of words used to express it, even if described in many ways, it is impossible to arrive at the actual state of mind. No matter how skilled and profound the analysis, even if described for countless eons, it is impossible to realize the actual state of mind, because the innate nature is not an object of analysis. For example, even if one filters the stars that appear in the ocean with the finest silk cloth, it is impossible to catch even one star, because the substance of the stars cannot be pinpointed. As long as there is verbal expression, no matter how beautiful the name, it is not the actual state. As long as it can be analyzed by the mind, no matter how profoundly it is understood, it is not the actual state. As long as there is the dualistic grasping of the object to be seen and the seer, it is impossible to realize the non-dual state. In short,
