The Sixth Volume of Instructions: A Guide to the Co-emergent Union Accomplishment of Ḍombhī Heruka, the Auspicious Saffron Nectar. Sixth Volume of Instructions. A Guide to the Co-emergent Union Accomplishment of Ḍombhī Heruka, the Auspicious Saffron Nectar. Herein lies the treatise entitled "A Guide to the Co-emergent Union Accomplishment of Ḍombhī Heruka, the Auspicious Saffron Nectar." Namo Guru Vajradhāra Pādāya (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: नमः गुरु वज्र धरा पादाया, Sanskrit Romanization: namaḥ guru vajra dhara pādāya, Literal Chinese Meaning: Homage to the Guru Vajradhara's Feet). At the feet of Virūpa and Ḍombhī. To the indivisible, supreme lords, the five. I prostrate to the all-encompassing Khyentse Wangpo of wisdom and compassion. I shall set forth the stages of the co-emergent accomplishment guide. Among the latter eight sections of the path, there are two aspects to explaining the co-emergent accomplishment guide composed by the great master Ḍombhī Heruka: from whence the lineage arose, and the actual instructions transmitted from that lineage. Firstly: The Lord of Fearless Yoga, the glorious Chökyong, was empowered in the mandala of the fifteen goddesses by the venerable Vajra Nairātmyā, manifesting the realization of the sixth bhūmi, and was known as the great accomplished Virūpa. He bestowed upon Ḍombhīpa an extensive explanation of the tantras, and a condensed practice of the whispered lineage of oral instructions, thereby attaining accomplishment. He himself, from the root tantra, said: "Whatever is born as co-emergent, that co-emergent is to be spoken of. The nature is said to be co-emergent. All aspects are a single bond." Based on this, the co-emergent accomplishment is explained. From him, in succession, went Wonderful Vajra, Forest Dweller, Garbhari, Jayaśrī, Invincible Moon, Bhikṣu Hero Vajra, and so on. Then, Drokmi Lotsāwa heard it, and the lineage of the Sakya Khon family and others continued unbroken until the end. All-Knowing Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo received the great river of all the instructions as a single stream, and thus received the blessings. Secondly, the actual instructions are in two parts: a general presentation of how to practice the path, and a specific explanation of the actual instructions. Firstly: For the individual who desires to manifest the state of the great Vajradhara, the fruition of union, there are two ways to practice the path: the path of asceticism with conceptualization, and the path of the child without conceptualization. Both of these require three things that are not consumed.

Not wasting resources, not wasting the body, and not wasting the mind. The first of these is: If you have material resources, you should know that they arise from the fruits of past generosity, and therefore you must make them a condition for accumulating merit. Do not let fire, water, enemies, and demons waste them, and with a mind free from stinginess and hoarding, offer the first portion to the guru as a mandala, the second portion to the Three Jewels and dakinis as a tsok offering, and the third portion use yourself as sustenance for Dharma practice. If you have no material resources, do not have any expectations or efforts in that direction, be content with meager food and clothing, and abandon it. This is common to both paths. The second point is: Having obtained the difficult-to-obtain leisure and endowment body, do not let it remain in an ordinary state and be wasted, but you must have the three vows of individual liberation, bodhisattva, and vidyadhara. Each of these vows has two aspects, outer and inner. Among them, the outer vow of individual liberation is: the five precepts of a layperson, the thirteen precepts of a novice monk, and the two hundred and fifty-three fully ordained vows of a monk, either all of them, or whichever vows you have received, you must protect them as you would protect your life, never letting them decline. The inner vow is to keep the bodhicitta essence from diminishing even slightly, and to keep it abiding in the body. The outer vow of a bodhisattva is: not to let the four root downfalls and the thirty secondary downfalls, etc., stain your mindstream. The inner vow is: to be motivated by great compassion for suffering beings, to do whatever you can to benefit others, and in a state of clear and uninterrupted awareness, to use your body to serve others as much as possible. The outer vow of a vidyadhara is: to protect the fourteen root downfalls and the eight branch downfalls, these twenty-two, which are commonly proclaimed in the tantras, in the proper way. The inner vow is: to leave awareness unadulterated and abide in the original non-conceptual state. The outer three of these vows belong to the path of asceticism, while the inner three are practiced through the path of the child. The third point is: Your own mind follows after confused and deluded thoughts
