First, be naked without any clothes, and imagine being afraid of that tree, sitting stiffly at the top, and then look at the roots of the tree. At that time, the fear of falling off a cliff will naturally arise. During those times, have the students sit with their legs firmly planted, not touching their buttocks, swaying their bodies moderately, and gradually blowing air. This will immediately generate experience. If experience is generated, recognize that wordless nature. If this does not generate experience, then the key points of the body and air are the same as before, and the key point of the mind is to grasp the rays of the sun and moon, sit on the sun and moon, and look at the four continents. Or strongly focus the mind on the top of the tree, focus on the roots of the tree, and look at one's old body located at the roots of the tree. Recognize the wordless state of one's body, which is neither anything nor nothing. During those times, the actions of the master are: bless the nectar and place it nearby, sprinkle the nectar all over the body, and make sounds such as the damaru, which are the actions of the body. The action of speech is to recite the mantra of the mala. The action of the mind is: to emit light in the form of a red mala mantra, pervading the student's entire body, and visualize the support of the mind, the letter (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum) located in the heart, emitting red light. The material connection is to burn gugul incense. After experience arises, it should be sung with a song of the nature of reality, the content of which is as follows: Your body is empty, without flesh, bones, or blood, like a rainbow in the sky, your body is manifested. The body has no disease, no impurity, no hunger or thirst. You, in order to conform to the world, demonstrate worldly actions. Like the moon in water, it cannot be grasped, and it does not abide in all dharmas. Without pride or hatred, I prostrate to you who are without object. Walking, abiding, sleeping, in all actions, you are constantly in samadhi, I prostrate and praise you who are without object. With illusion-like samadhi, possessing great miraculous powers and transformations, not mixed up but entering into equanimity, I prostrate and praise you who are without object. Saying this, prostrate. In all intervals, also sing the mantra of the mala.

Receive. Bees are not attached to flowers; just as they extract honey and leave, enjoy the realms without attachment, and introduce the very nature of non-letters. These will cause various things such as the body trembling, the mouth speaking, and the mind being non-conceptual. That is how to grasp the key point. If the mind becomes unconscious, leave the body as it is, untouched. If there is excessive throbbing and movement, recognize it as mind and leave it. If there is something, enjoy the gathering, make aspirations. Establish the three places of oneself and the disciple on the three letters, saying this: All such experiences are within the state of one's own mind awareness. That is also the illusion of appearance from non-existence, emptiness because there is no grasping. The inseparability of these three is called the Great Seal, the non-letter. Teach in this way and engage in experience. Then prostrate at the feet of the lama, make offerings, gather the results of actions, protect, and abide in comfort. These are the preliminary blessings. Having the lineage of blessings in this way, instructions should be given, which have three aspects: first, grasping the mind; second, taming the mind; and third, placing the mind on the very nature of reality. Each of these also has three aspects. The first three are: grasp where it has gone, maintain where it is placed, and abandon the two extremes. The middle three are: do not let it wander where it has gone, do not let it be slow where it is placed, and do not let it be excessive above or below. The last three are: learn from examples, learn from meaning, and surpass examples and meaning. Briefly stated, these are the nine root dharmas. Among them, the first of grasping the mind, grasping where it has gone, is: sit on a comfortable cushion, take refuge and have strong devotion to the root lama and the lineage lamas, starting with Jetsun Drolma (Arya Tara). Cultivate the mind of enlightenment, visualize the lama on the crown of the head, clearly establish the deity of commitment, and grasp where one's own mind has gone with the rope of mindfulness. Maintaining where it is placed is: not letting the grasped mind wander elsewhere, not pursuing the traces of dualistic conceptual thoughts, which is abandoning the two extremes. Furthermore, if one cannot grasp the mind on an object such as a precious object of offering, and conceptual thoughts arise towards something such as a pillar or vase in front, or the sound of water, or the scent of sandalwood, then again return to that.
