Its meaning is: the five stains of reversal, namely: the stain of attachment to this life, the stain of disbelief in karma and its results, the stain of clinging to samsara as happiness, the stain of cherishing oneself, and the stain of clinging to things and signs as real. There are also five non-reversed realizations, namely: realizing that the next life is more important than this life, realizing belief in karma and its results, realizing that samsara is suffering, realizing that benefiting others is more important than benefiting oneself, and realizing that ultimate truth is emptiness while conventional truth is illusion. The obstacles to practicing Dharma include: harm caused by external humans and non-humans, diseases caused by imbalances in the internal four elements, and internal conceptual thoughts and afflictions that contradict the Dharma. Please pacify these three obstacles. This is the first round of contemplation. The second is to train in the stages of the path, namely, to train in the thoughts of the three types of individuals, including: training in the common stages of the lower type of individual, training in the common stages of the intermediate type of individual, and training in the uncommon stages of the lower and higher types of individuals, totaling three. The first, in general, there are many different ways of guiding from different lineages. In the Kadampa lineage of the venerable Marme Dzepa, some start from contemplating the suffering of samsara, some start from karma and its results, some start from the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, and most start from death and impermanence, etc. Although there are various methods, they all converge on one key point, and there is no difference in meaning. However, in order to conform to the generally popular view, if one starts from the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, then it is the basis for contemplating impermanence. Therefore, starting from contemplating impermanence, there is no difference in meaning, but it is explained in this way because the things before our eyes appear pleasant. Here there are four: contemplating the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, contemplating death and impermanence, contemplating the suffering of the lower realms, and contemplating karma and its results. The first is: perform the seven-branch offering of prostration as before. Recite the above-mentioned prayer a little. Then, examine your own body, dwelling, resources, and place, etc., and think that this human body that I have obtained this time is actually very difficult to obtain. Do not let it be wasted meaninglessly. And

Thinking that one must do something meaningful, taking this goal as the basis, and meditating by reversing it from the general perspective and placing it at the head of everything. To this, the summary is as follows: Hell, hungry ghosts, animals, barbarians, long-lived gods, those with wrong views, and the absence of Buddhas, the mute – these are the eight unfree states. As it is said, if one is born in the three lower realms, the suffering is extremely intense, and the body is very bad as a basis for practicing Dharma, so there is no leisure to practice Dharma. The gods of the desire realm are also distracted by attachment to desirable objects. Most of the gods of the form and formless realms are intoxicated by samadhi, so there is no opportunity to hear the Dharma. Asuras are also like the gods of the desire realm, and their bodies are worse than those of the lower realms. Being born in a world where no Buddha has appeared, or even in a Buddha-field where a Buddha has appeared, the places where the Dharma flourishes are few. Being born in a place without Dharma, a remote area, a barbarian, or being born in a place where the Dharma flourishes, but becoming a heretic who hates the Dharma, or becoming foolish and mute, and not understanding anything about what to accept and reject, there is no opportunity to practice Dharma. I have now escaped from the eight unfree states and have obtained a body that is capable of practicing Dharma, so I think. The summary is as follows: Having a human body, being born in the central land, having complete faculties, not having reversed karma, having faith in the holy place, the Buddha has appeared and taught the Dharma, the teachings remain and follow it, and having heartfelt love for others. As it is said, I have generally obtained a human body. Especially, I was born in a central land where the Dharma flourishes. Even more especially, I have all five faculties, so I can know what to accept and reject. Extremely especially, I have not encountered wrong views, and I have not committed deeds of falling into wrong views, such as the five heinous crimes. I am in a place where I can generate faith in the pure Vinaya, so I have all five of my own endowments. The Buddha has already appeared in the world, and the holy Dharma has already been taught. The teachings have not disappeared and remain, and there are many new entrants to the Dharma. There are many who give food, clothing, and other necessities to Dharma practitioners with loving hearts, so I am in a time when I can obtain Dharma support, so I have all five of the other's endowments. Thus, escaping from the eight unfree states, having a body with ten endowments is so rare. At this time, I must strive to practice Dharma, so I think.
