Quintessential Instructions Treasury, Volume Two: Great Perfection, Natural Liberation of Dharmata. Quintessential Instructions Treasury, Volume Two. Great Perfection, Natural Liberation of Dharmata. Great Perfection, Natural Liberation of Dharmata, concludes. In Sanskrit: Maha Santi Dharma Dhatu Atma Kona Ma. In Tibetan: Great Perfection, Natural Liberation of Dharmata. Homage to glorious Samantabhadra. From the state of primordial unborn, luminous equality, the unwavering mind-essence, the vast expanse of non-grasping, the spontaneously present three kayas, the great bliss Akanishta, I pay homage to the ground of completion, the unchanging. Though my mind and the minds of all beings are Buddha, through the power of ignorance, we wander in the wilderness of existence. Wishing to be liberated from this, the path of the excellent chariot, I will speak here of the essential Dharma of definitive meaning. Friends, in this beginningless and endless samsara, the various sufferings, like turbulent waves, arise from the ignorance of self-grasping. Therefore, to counteract this, it is crucial to cherish the view of the natural state. Thus, all phenomena of appearance and existence, samsara and nirvana, are primordially unborn, equal from the beginning. There is neither establishment nor refutation, neither permanence nor annihilation, neither going nor coming. Devoid of extremes, non-dual, the nature of reality is like the sky. Various phenomena appear distinctly, without mixing. At the moment of appearance, their nature is free from elaboration. Outer objects are not real; they are appearances of mind. Not mind, nor phenomena arising from mind. The appearance of the five objects is like seeing hairs in dim light. Though appearing as non-existent, grasping at duality causes confusion. Just as in a dream, one sees a illusory elephant, surrounded by an army, and fears it as other than oneself, but its nature is all within the mind. At that time, neither inside nor outside is established. Knowing its nature, fear is liberated in its own place. Likewise, when non-duality is grasped as duality, the unwise grasp it as real, and wander in samsara. The wise know that dual appearance is without duality, and the nature of samsara is liberated into nirvana. Alas! These appearances are unborn from the beginning, the various non-dualities are like reflections in a mirror. The nature of emptiness is not different from appearance, like water and moisture, in inseparable union. Like an illusory, boundless, emanated city, from the moment of arising, it is unborn, in the primordial state. Though appearing to abide, it does not abide; the Dharmakaya does not abide even for a moment.

In you, there is no cessation, increase, or decrease. Howsoever it appears, it is not established as such. Howsoever it is examined, it has no such nature. Primordially liberated, instantly, in the state of Kuntuzangpo. For all phenomena that are without basis or substance, There is no deliberate grasping, no identification as "this." Like space, the agent is invisible, empty of action. Whatever it is, it is everything; it is this, without any fixed point. Even with sectarian attachments affixed to established conclusions, And with many categories of view, meditation, and conduct, The essential nature of mind, the innate meaning, is difficult to see. The Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, Cittamatrins, Svatantrika-Madhyamikas, Through distinctions of the absence of self of person and phenomena, Take the actual view and meditation, mistaking space and so forth as the basis, Seeming to accomplish countless multitudes of beings. Even with the famed Kriya, Charya, and Anuttara yogas, And with many tantric meanings of generation and completion, contrived transformations, One is not close to the unmade, naturally present, spontaneously accomplished innate state, But is bound by the net of elaboration. Mind awakened, "this" is the view, meditation, and result. Some block perception and feeling, Some sever the connection of the three times, And say that present awareness is utterly transparent. Others count births and deaths, And stir up waves of conceptualization, calling it the innate meaning. Likewise, binding the winds, uniting the two, bliss, Clarity, clinging to desire and existence, is binding, calling it the genuine meaning. Lost in the net of alternating acceptance and rejection, The essential meaning itself is never seen. All of that, through the delusion of intellectually constructed dharmas, Is attached here, with no opportunity for liberation. Alas, not knowing the examination of the precious, It seems like discarding the wish-fulfilling jewel and seeking bondage. Having abandoned the supreme innate nature of mind, One is bound in the gaps of contrived transformations and hopes, One will never be liberated by effortful mind. One is misled by making the seeker the object to be accomplished. Ema! If you want the meaning of the innate nature of mind, What is the use of many examinations and analyses? Whatever appears is it; there is appearance without grasping. Without grasping, without bias, there is no need for acceptance or rejection, Everything is unattached; do not contrive or adulterate. If this appearance of objects and mind is the nature of emptiness, What is the need for a view of emptiness? If it is not, even if you look, it will not become empty, What is the use of meaningless labor? Likewise, there is no need to meditate on the nature of generation and completion,
