If you are doing it in an extremely simple way, you do not need to arrange a separate offering mandala; otherwise, you do. These should be placed on a clean white cloth, upon which five different colored silks are laid. On these, draw five sets of five circles with thread or lines. In the center, on the blue circle, place jewels; on the white circle to its right, flowers; next to that, on the yellow circle, grains; on the red circle to the left, medicines; and next to that, on the green circle, fragrances and incense.

Reciting: Homage! Homage! Vajra-holder Guru. Please greatly have compassion on me. I, in the three realms of samsara, have long dwelt and lost memory, for the sake of transcending samsara itself, I also make request to the Guru. In countless hundreds of thousands of kalpas, I have repeatedly transmigrated again and again. Vajrasattva, the self-arisen wisdom, cutting off cultivation and root, arises from the mind of the Buddha. Please show me the ultimate truth of mind. Thus, recite three times. Showing the nature of mind itself: Thereafter, the disciples, without distraction, gaze intently at the Guru's heart, and at the moment of distraction, the Guru, with forceful intensity, speaks three times, "What is mind?" In that interval, the disciples are startled, and a natural awareness, free from grasping and fixation, suddenly arises; this is the intention of the Dharmakaya, which is the bestowal of wisdom. Among the three empowerments of entering the three mandalas, the empowerment of entering the Nirmanakaya mandala: The disciples align themselves with the posture of a lion, gazing straight ahead like an elephant, projecting their awareness like a meteor, a ball of light, towards the east, and finally, in the manner of a lion's leap, they are placed in the state of the unborn nature of reality. The Guru, with clear and melodious voice, recites the sequence, and one must focus one's mind accordingly. Thus, the target is struck. The Guru says: Ema! Fortunate heart-son, listen! The eastern realm called Abhirati is exceedingly beautiful, delightful, and pleasing. There resides the perfectly complete Buddha, the Bhagavan Vajra Akshobhya. His body is blue, adorned with precious jewels, without the distinction of father and mother. Upon a single atom, there reside as many Buddhas as there are atoms, each listening to the Dharma from their own teacher, and each teaching the Dharma to their own retinue. Each reveals the ultimate truth of their own mind, luminous and clear, the very essence of secret mantra. Son, look there with the gaze of an elephant, and leap with the leap of a lion. Ah Ah Ah, thus sealing with the irreversible three vajras of body, speech, and mind. Again, the disciples face south, aligning themselves with the posture of an elephant, focusing their gaze straight ahead, and as before, their awareness rises to the glorious realm, leaping with a graceful posture
