The Second Volume of Instructions Treasury. The Net of Brahma, a Ritual of Abundant Empowerment. The Second Volume of Instructions Treasury. The Net of Brahma, a Ritual of Abundant Empowerment. The Net of Brahma, a Ritual of Abundant Empowerment, is respectfully recorded. In the sky of the Dharmakaya, may the mandala of the Sambhogakaya increase. May the rays of the Nirmanakaya dispel the darkness of beings' minds. Primordial Protector, the Five Families with the lineage, may you be the wish-fulfilling, spontaneously accomplished treasure on the crown of my mind. The Vajra meaning of the hearts of all Buddhas, from the vast secret teachings of the Manifest Heart Drop, whichever is the first of the four ripening empowerments, the order of the elaborate ritual, I will now clearly explain. There are three aspects to this: the qualifications of the person entering the ritual, the proper arrangement of the preliminaries, and the actual empowerment. The first has two parts: the qualifications of the teacher who explains are threefold: being skilled in the meaning of the Sutras and Tantras, being familiar with the key points of direct perception, and having the ability to liberate others after one's own mindstream has matured. The qualifications of the student to be taught are fourfold: to generate the perception of the Buddha in the Lama who reveals the meaning of the Manifest Heart Essence; to abandon non-virtuous actions like poisonous snakes because the field of faith is good; to be generous with worldly wealth when requesting the correct instructions because one understands the meaning of illusion; and to be generous with one's body and life, offering service and great devotion to the Lama. The second point, the arrangement, is as follows: the mandala should be a square, the length and width equal to a person's height, smeared with the five types of cow dung and fragrant mud, and the lines and colors should be blessed as the five wisdoms. Starting from the corners, draw the lines of a single-doored mandala completely. In the center, draw a round blue light sphere with an eight-petaled lotus on it. The east is white, the south is yellow, the west is red, and the north is green, with alternating colors in the intermediate directions. Around the outside, place fragments of silk banners, door corners, horse supports, fields, etc. Outside of that, draw a sun cushion and a vajra fence, surrounded by a garland of five-colored rays. In the center and the four directions, place vases of the five families, each with a different color, marked with its respective seed syllable (Tibetan: ༀ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओँ आः हूँ स्वाहा, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ āḥ hūṃ svāhā, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om Ah Hum Svaha). Decorate the mouths and necks of the vases. Fill them with the five precious substances, the five grains, the five medicines, the five incense, and pure water mixed with milk and other three white and three sweet substances. Insert five arrows, five mirrors, five conch shells, and various colored silks into the openings of the vases.

Then, place the five peacock feathers, along with the five chakras of the five families. Also place the secret empowerment substance, a skull cup filled with nectar. Place four phurbas at the four doors, and insert four swords at the four corners. Arrange extensive outer and inner offerings, tormas, and tsok around the perimeter. Also place the symbolic objects associated with the third empowerment. Adorn with banners and thangkas, etc. Third, the main part of the empowerment has three aspects: blessing oneself and the mandala, admitting the disciples, and bestowing the empowerment. First, although there is no elaboration of numerous generation and completion stages like in the lower tantras, one should instantly clarify that one is enlightened as a Buddha in the mandala from the beginning. Visualize oneself as the primordial Samantabhadra and Samantabhadri, blue in color, in union, with hands in equipoise mudra, and legs in vajra posture. Think that limitless rays of light are emanating. Recite one hundred and eight A's. Then, instantly generate the mandalas of the five families on the mandala plate in front. Seal it with Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ Svāhā (ༀ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་སྭ་ཧཱ།,oṃ āḥ hūṃ svāhā,Om Ah Hum Svaha, may it be accomplished). Visualize all phenomena, the outer world and its contents, as the pure lands and palaces of the five wisdoms, filled with deities and goddesses, adorned with samaya substances and desirable qualities. Bless them with Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ (ༀ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ།,oṃ āḥ hūṃ,Om Ah Hum, body speech mind). This method is clearly explained in the Dzogchen Rangjung Gyud. Second, there are eleven aspects. First is making the request. After offering the mandala, with palms joined, the disciple says: Emaho! Great being, protector of beings, guru, lord! I am a fortunate, intelligent child. Please accept me into this great secret definitive teaching. Say this three times. Second is granting permission. The guru says: Ema, fortunate, intelligent child! In this supreme secret vehicle, by entering the vajra holder's teachings, you will definitely attain the result. Great beings, all of you, having dispelled the doubts in your minds, like seeing the qualities of a jewel, are you happy to have me as your guru? After asking, the disciple replies: We are happy. Third is taking refuge. The guru says: The body of the pure essence of the five winds, the five wisdoms purified of defilements, the three kayas whose activities are completely fulfilled, I pay homage to the Three Jewels with realization. Say this three times. The fortunate ones visualize the petals of the four chakras of their own body as the Sangha, the bindu as the Dharma, the essence of the five winds as the Wisdom
