The Precious Treasury of Suchness. The Precious Treasury of Suchness. Chapter One: Establishing That All Dharmas Are Inexpressible in Any Way. The Precious Treasury of Suchness is complete. In Sanskrit: Тататватаратнакошанама. In Tibetan: Named "The Precious Treasury of Suchness." Homage to glorious Samantabhadra! From the very beginning, the basis for manifest enlightenment, The unchanging, spontaneously accomplished realm of the vajra essence, The very nature of mind, the Great Perfection, I pay homage because there is no abandoning, placing, going, or coming. The expanse of the nature of all dharmas, which is inexpressible, The Great Perfection, the pinnacle of view, The meaning that is unlike anything else, beyond everything, Listen as I explain it as I have realized it. The ultimate meaning of the heart essence of mind expanse instructions, Is the single spontaneously accomplished absence of fabrication, Each one is bound by the key points of unraveling, obstructing, and binding, It abides in the meaning of contemplation and the four aspects. Of these, the first is showing the state of absence. The nature of absence is empty of inherent existence, In the great expanse of space-like bodhichitta, However it appears, it has no such nature. Just as in the vast expanse of space, However the environment and beings, the four elements, appear to change, Like that empty form has no nature, The dharmas that appear as bodhichitta are also the same. Just as however illusory images appear, Like the empty nature has no substance, From the very moment of appearance, all phenomena of existence and samsara, Do not move from bodhichitta, there is no substance. Just as dreams do not move from sleep, And have no nature at the time of appearance, The nature of appearance, samsara, nirvana, and bodhichitta, As such, does not move, there is no substance or characteristic. Thus, although all dharmas appear in the mind, Since it is not the mind, nor other than the mind, In the nature of absence, clarity, and illusion, From this very moment, it transcends speech, thought, and expression. Therefore, all the dharmas that appear in the mind, Know that they are absent from the very moment of appearance. Thus, like the nature of the object's appearance being absent, The nature of the subject, bodhichitta, Is also like the nature of absence, like space, Know that it transcends speech, thought, and expression. In the self-arisen wisdom, the essence of meaning, There is no cause and effect, so cut off the precipice of samsara. Good!

Due to non-existence, samsara and nirvana are equally balanced. Due to the absence of delusion and obscuration, the lifeline of the three realms is severed. The mind-essence, like the sky, is enlightenment. Because of the absence of partiality and the non-duality of self-nature, there is no view to hold, no meditation to practice, and no vows to protect. Activities are effortless, and wisdom is without obscuration. There is no purification on the ground, and no path to traverse. There are no subtle dharmas, no dualistic connections. Transcending affirmation and denial, there is no dharma or non-dharma. Like the Golden Isle, there is a realm without distinctions. The self-born mind-essence, like the sky, is the nature of non-existence, beyond all names and expressions. The essence of meaning is clear and empty awareness. Because it cannot be fabricated, virtue does not increase benefit. Because it cannot be transformed, evil does not inflict harm. Because there is no karma and result, there is no ripening of pleasure and pain. Because there is no good or bad, there is no acceptance or rejection, samsara or nirvana. Because there is no thought or expression, it is separated from the realm. Because there is no before or after, lifetimes are merely designations. Who takes what, where does one transmigrate? What karma ripens, what is its fruit? Think about the meaning like the sky and examine it. Think again and again, examine again and again, and if you analyze with awareness, you will not find even a particle of reality, not even a mote. Without a moment of division, without grasping or being grasped, from this very moment, abide in the essence of the meaning of reality. It is not there when examined, and even more so when not examined. Even in mere words, it is even more imperceptible. Therefore, all phenomena are always non-existent. Understand the illusory, unreal nature. In the nature of dreamlike illusion and emptiness, even if an ignorant child is bound by attachment, the wise who know the nature cannot be bound. Likewise, ignorant beings are bound and wander in samsara by clinging to the self in non-existent dharmas. However, those yogis who have awareness of this very thing, from this very moment, have decided that it is non-existent. Therefore, there is no cause and effect, and they are liberated in the realm of dharmata. In the unchanging mind-essence of enlightenment, wisdom without grasping naturally abides. In the naked awareness without cause and effect, the single bindu without good or evil abides. In the boundless and centerless awareness, the intention of Samantabhadra Dharmakaya naturally abides. In the essence of non-existence, self-aware enlightenment, the intention of the victorious ones, pure and without object, is clear. In the illusory yoga of awareness, self-appearing, non-existent dharmas arise unimpeded and spontaneously. From the moment of arising, it is decided that they are non-existent, so there is no acceptance or rejection.
