The nature is without coming and going, therefore it is the wisdom that abides eternally. From the perspective of the firmness of characteristics, it arises like a root; from the perspective of condensation, it arises like a trunk; from the perspective of growth, it arises like leaves; from the perspective of clarity, it arises like a flower; from the perspective of ripening, it arises like a fruit. The essence of the secret cycle is that recognition and realization are obtained simultaneously, so it does not depend on the three of hearing, contemplation, and meditation. The cessation of nature and the attainment of Buddhahood are simultaneous, so it does not depend on diligence and the power of habituation. The Buddhahood of characteristics and the arising of compassion are simultaneous, so it does not depend on the completion of the two accumulations. The essence of the unsurpassed secret cycle does not rely on words, so it does not rely on the wisdom of conceptual thought. The nature is known directly, so it does not abide in the view of holding onto mental judgment. The four visions of characteristics reach their limit, so the result does not depend on the three bodies and five wisdoms. This is naturally accomplished from the beginning, so it manifests in this life. The nature of these should be believed through scriptural authority. As the Lamp Illuminating [Darkness] by the master Vimalamitra says: "The outer cycle is like the body, extensively teaching terminology; the inner cycle is like the eye, the Dharma of seeing symbols; the secret cycle is like the heart, the Dharma of remembering essence; this is like a person with a complete body." Such Great Perfection, the Instruction Section, the outer, inner, secret, and unsurpassed four sections, have twenty-two thousand different reasons for expression. There are thirty-five thousand chapters. There are six hundred and forty thousand shlokas (梵文:śloka,梵文罗马拟音:śloka,汉语字面意思:颂). There are five thousand key points. There are eight great pegs. There are one hundred and eighty small pegs. There are nine thousand obstacles. There are seventy thousand distinctions. There are two hundred and fifty thousand repulsions, the subject matter being equal to the extent of space. What is taught is the definitive Instruction Section. Thus, the three sections of the Instruction Section are gathered into the three spaces: the space of unceasing play, the space of nothing unresolved in the mind, and the space of no good or bad in essence. The essence of the Instruction Section is also gathered into the four: liberation of key points, blocking and binding, recognition, and directly establishing oneself in one's own key point. The third meaning, to determine the categories, has two parts. The individual explanation is in the tantras of the Mind Section, translated into Tibetan.

The five early translations among the so-called "Eighteen Lower Sections of the Mind" are: The Cuckoo of Wisdom, The Great Shaking, The Great Garuda Soaring, Gold Melting on Stone, and the Imperishable Banner of Great Space. These were translated by Vairotsana. The thirteen later translations by Vimala, Kumaraja, and Yudra are: Pinnacle Arising, King of Space, Blissful Transformation, Complete General Collection, Bodhicitta Drop, Extensive Bliss, The Wheel of Life, Six Bindus, Complete General Practice, Wish-Fulfilling Jewel, All-Encompassing Wisdom, Supreme Holy One, and Accomplishment of Practice. On top of these, adding the All-Creating Tantra, the Marvelous Tantra, and the Thirteen Sutras previously translated by Vairotsana, there are a total of twenty-one Mind Section texts. The eighteen Lung Bampo volumes have similar names, but some are earlier or later, more or less, and the translators are different. In the tantras of the Longdé section, there are said to be one hundred thousand, including the Tantra of Digging Deep into Samsara, the Secret Tantra of Precious Jewels, the Tantra of Non-Action, and the Tantra of Vast Space. In the tantras of the Menngag section, there are also fifty-one thousand, including the Lotus Clear, the Lotus Increasing Power, and the Tantra of the Wish-Fulfilling Spike. In particular, there are five thousand three hundred tantras of the Essence Tantra of Buddha Samyoga and Thigle Kor, seventeen tantras of the Great Secret Certainty Tantra such as the Sound Transformation, including Krosa Ma, making eighteen. These are derived from the Secret Conduct Seed Tantra. In the general tantras of Dzogchen, there is the Great Space Root Tantra, which transcends mental activity, and the Great Space Later Tantra, which is practiced, and the complete explanation of the Great Space Later Later Tantra, which is the fruit of complete perfection, the Dharmata King Tantra, which is the unchanging nature of mind, the Bodhicitta Thigle Tantra, which shows the nature of mind as a single bindu, the Yeshe Thigle Tantra, which shows the nature of mind as self-arisen wisdom, the Menngag Trengwa Tantra, which shows the nature of mind as the root of all, the Sangwa Gyalpo Tantra, which shows the nature of mind as the great all-pervading, the Yeshe Dampa Tantra, which shows the nature of mind as self-awareness, the Khaying Namdak Tantra, which shows the nature of mind as the play of Kuntuzangpo, and the nature of mind as the heart essence of all.
