Shown. An adorned person sits half-visible at the boundary. When one with clarity looks as before, having recognized the way the hero dwells, showing half the body, one meets the likeness itself. The body image made of crystal, the yogi holds it with the left hand. When one with clarity looks at it again, one sees a body exceedingly endowed with light. With half the body itself, one meets the self-nature of the mind.

Or reside with the gods. Fill a vessel with flowers and place it before oneself, When looking again with eyes that possess clarity, One will encounter the mandalas themselves. Therefore, whoever becomes familiar with this, In the bardo, the appearance will be of the other shore. Thus it is said. Thus, the twenty-one elaborations are shown for the sake of those with great mental proliferation. For those with medium proliferation, light has two aspects: inner light and outer appearance. Wisdom has three aspects: essence, nature, and compassion. The body has three aspects: self-arisen, union, and father/mother tantra. Mandalas have three aspects. Bindu has three aspects: ground, path, and fruition. Awareness has three aspects: ground, abiding, and the perception of objects. Dharmadhatu has two aspects: outer and inner. Thus, sixteen categories of introduction are shown. For those with small proliferation, three aspects are shown: example, meaning, and sign. For those who are completely free from proliferation, recognition occurs through the appearance of a single direct perception. From that itself: "For the sake of the great ones, With twenty-one introductions, That itself is gathered from the outer into the inner. Again, what is gathered is this: Light has two, wisdom has three, The body is shown as three, bindu has three, Awareness has three, dharmadhatu has two, These are for the sake of gathering. What is extremely gathered is this: Through three: example, sign, and meaning, The fruit of abiding nature is attained, Mudras enter the yoga of the deities, This is for the sake of those with characteristics. The single view free from proliferation is, From the grasping of those, Maturation makes maturation the path, For those who abide continuously in direct perception, The essence sees itself by itself, What is the use of other efforts? One should become familiar with this." Thus it is said. Eliminating contradictions within the scriptures, as it says in the Jeweled Garland: "Alas, son of lineage, after my complete nirvana, in the time of the five degenerations, there will be deceptive childish beings who believe in relying on examples to understand the Buddha's intention. At that time, this secret lineage of one's own will arise. True awareness itself cannot be symbolized by examples. Although the five lights of self-nature are present, if only the five lights of images are shown, one will not become enlightened." Since it is said like that, isn't it a prohibition of introducing through examples? Answer: That is because without seeing the meaning of direct perception of awareness, one clings to conceptual thoughts, thinking that the example of awareness is like this.

Some symbolize it with space, some with the different five elements, some with light, and some with the form of deities. For the common vehicle in general, and for some deficiencies in the outer, inner, and secret aspects, it merely exists as the nature of negation. It is spoken in order to negate the clinging to things as their own characteristics in the basis of negation, the originally pure self-awareness. In this context of symbolizing the meaning of the secret heart essence, no matter how many examples are shown, there is no place to stray or cling to. Because those who directly see self-awareness are introduced only as its companions, but ultimately, through the manner of essence, expansion, and absorption, like a crystal, it only symbolizes the great expanse of original purity, like a pure crystal ball, so it is reasonable. This much is also spoken as a symbolic example in that tantra itself. In it, it says, "The symbol of Vajrasattva is, the color white like the moon." And so on, through the three of example, sign, and meaning, self-awareness is symbolized, thereby showing the unborn, unceasing, transparent, and vast space. Therefore, this introduction that accords with the faculties is accompanied by practical guidance, without straying or error, possessing oral transmission and practice, cutting off doubt and superimposition, with words and meanings interconnected, and is said to be a supreme introduction for indicating the place of the Buddha's Dharma lineage. In the "Supreme Treasure Trove of Vehicles," it says that relying on introduction to symbolize the difficult place of Vajra, is the twenty-first chapter. Twenty-first chapter, symbolizing the difficult place of Vajra by relying on introduction.
