Twelfth Layer: Detailed Explanation of Key Points. Twelfth Layer: Detailed Explanation of Key Points. Having thus generally shown how the body is formed, now, regarding that, there are three detailed explanations of the state of the channels, winds, and bindus: the support, the channels; the dependent, the winds; and the detailed distinctions of the abiding, the bindus. The first has three parts: a general presentation of the nature of the channels, a detailed explanation of the categories, and a presentation of how to practice them. The first is: As it says in the Garland of Pearls: From the channels come the bindus, possessing the nature of fineness and movement, adorned by their own rays of light. These also have three parts: right, left, and central. Thus it is said. Here, explaining the meaning of those, the three main channels are: Roma, Kyangma, and Kundarma. Among these, Roma is: Because it obtains the taste of everything, it is like salt. Relying on the bliss of the bindu, it gives rise to a unique experience, therefore it is called "Roma." Also, because it arises from desire, it is called "Ma." Relying on that which has desire, one attains Buddhahood. Or, "Ro" is little activity, and the experience relying on the illusion of the bindu is difficult to express, therefore it is called "Ma." Among these, it causes the conventional bindu to move, and is the nature of skillful means. Kyangma is: Because it has no curves or branches, it is called "Kyangma," meaning straight. By nature, it is the cause of both the ultimate bindu and the conventional bindu, causing the arising of the ultimate and the arising of the conventional to ripen and separate. Because it is straight, it is unchanging. Because it is the basis of everything, it is called "Ma." Relying on this, one attains Buddhahood without effort. The one called Kundarma is: the gathering of all. Relying on this, all the bliss of the bindu, the bliss of the channels, and the bliss of the winds arise, therefore it is called "Kun." Because it pervades everything, it is called "Darma." Among these, Roma is: coiling from the left of the navel and running from the right. Kyangma is: emerging from the left of the tip of the heart, emerging from the network of throat channels, entering from inside the skull, and appearing as a door from the left eye. Roma is: from the right eye. Kundarma is: abiding straight from the center, dividing into three tips, and appearing from the central door at the crown aperture of Brahma, that
