The activity is not clinging to all things as self. What is called transcendence of view is said to be inexpressible. Such distinctions are like illusions and dreams, not established from the very appearance, but empty and non-existent in essence, merely illusory appearances of clarity. The nature of mind, the essence of self-arisen wisdom, arises from ignorance, and its essence is born as an obscuration. When these illusions are dispelled, it is called the manifestation of stainless luminosity. Now, these natures generated by karma and afflictions depend and abide on the very appearance of karma and afflictions. Moreover, that also depends on improper conceptualization, the six or seven consciousnesses, including the alaya consciousness. And that abides in the self-arisen wisdom, the thusness of mind, the self-nature of purity. That does not abide in anything, therefore it is called self-arisen wisdom. As it says in the Uttaratantra: Earth abides on water, water on wind, wind abides on space. Space does not abide on wind and water, nor on the element of earth. Likewise, the aggregates, elements, and sense bases depend on karma and afflictions. Karma and afflictions always depend on improper attention. Improper attention abides on the purity of mind. The nature of mind, all phenomena, does not abide on anything. And so on. Among them, karma is of three types: pure, dark, and mixed; or meritorious, non-meritorious, and unwavering karma. Meritorious karma is, in this context, the ten virtues, etc., which produce the fruits of happiness in samsara, and all that is in accordance with merit. Non-meritorious karma is the ten non-virtues and the five heinous crimes, etc. Unwavering karma is the karma that produces in the higher realms, because it produces results without wavering elsewhere. Afflictions are six, as stated in the Union of Sun and Moon Sutra: Afflictions are six. Ignorance refers to clinging to the aspect of the fundamental delusion of thought. Delusion is confusion from the aspect of wisdom. Hatred is confusion from the aspect of the generation stage. Pride is confusion from the aspect of view. Desire is confusion from the aspect of appearance. Jealousy is confusion from the aspect of non-realization. These and so on, afflictions are the thoughts that follow

The mind that clings to "I," and the memory that follows, the conceptualization that serves as the basis for all habits and doubts, and the aspect of clinging to objects and things, etc., are immeasurable. If classified, according to the order of the aggregates of conceptualization, there are eighty-four thousand, namely, desire, hatred, ignorance, and the equal mixture of these, each having twenty-one thousand. All of these arise from clinging to what is non-existent as "self," like mistaking a mirage for water, and like mistaking a rope for a snake. All outer environment and inner beings and afflictions are merely the appearance of clear awareness arising in non-existence. As stated in the "String of Pearls": "These various appearances, like seeing a snake on a rope, by grasping what is not it as it, the outer and inner, environment and beings, are formed into two. If analyzed, the rope itself, the environment and beings are empty from the beginning, they are the conventional and ultimate form. Seeing the snake itself is false, seeing the rope is true. For example, like birds dwelling on high, the nature of the two truths, in the world is merely conventional, it has no connection with the true. From the realm of emptiness, all its essence is liberated." And as stated earlier: "The aggregates are like illusion and emanation." Thus, since these realms of outer and inner, the aggregates, etc., are called the Dharma of Samsara, therefore, having known the nature, liberation from suffering, each enters into the pure essence, which is the ultimate truth. Here, in the "Sun and Moon Conjunction Tantra," it says: "All these are the sole cause of Samsara." In "The Supreme Vehicle Precious Treasury," it says: The detailed classification of the Dharma of Samsara is the third chapter.
