。The mind indulges in existence, engaging in various diversions and constantly contemplating. The existence of the union of body and mind flows without obstruction, experiencing various sufferings. As stated in the Madhyamaka-karika: The appearance of the bardo is the aggregates abiding in their own nature, and the realms and afflictions appear as objects. The dimness and confusion of the moment of death, and the consciousness not abiding in one place. The dharmata bardo is also the body, and the light and color of wisdom. The expansion of bindus and the appearance of the elements, whatever appears is the palace of dharmata. The appearance of the sridpa bardo is fleeting and unsteady, like the appearance of a dream. The seemingly real but false mind-made body, the light of the six realms such as white, and the objects of each are visible. The above. In the second meaning, the detailed explanation of the respective nature has four points: In the nature bardo, cutting off the superimposition of knowable objects is a key instruction like a bird entering its nest. In the death bardo, clarifying the unclear is a key instruction like a beautiful woman looking in a mirror. In the dharmata bardo, trusting in self-appearance is a key instruction like meeting an old acquaintance or a child entering its mother's lap. In the sridpa bardo, continuing the karma is a key instruction like a fox entering a broken dike. The first point also has two parts: giving an example and explaining the meaning. The example is that when a bird first builds its nest, it investigates the harm from humans and so on, and builds it in a safe place. Later, whenever it enters the nest, it enters in an instant without any consideration. The yogi is also like that, cutting off superimpositions through hearing and thinking. The second point is that, like the previous example, first cutting off the superimpositions of the mind through hearing and thinking, and then meditating without any doubt on the meaning of what is being meditated on, thereby directly entering into meditation. That is to say, first studying the various tenets of self-nature and the classifications of vehicles through hearing and thinking, thereby cutting off all intellectual proliferation. In general, whatever is practiced is sufficient by hearing, but for those who have awakened from past karma, and in the past when the buddhas appeared during the good aeon, their own karmic connections, the compassion of the gurus, and the omniscient knowledge, the dharma that goes to the heart, the dharma that one likes, is the only one that can liberate. But nowadays, good karma is difficult to obtain, and there are many thoughts, so one proliferation is not enough.

It is only that the extremes of existence are not completely eliminated. Ordinary people must practice hearing and thinking without bias, because the final stage of this Nyingtik teaching will reach a stage called "the place of practice with faith and desire." In particular, this Secret King is the pinnacle of everything, so only those with extensive hearing and thinking, superior wisdom, and excellent fortune can understand its meaning. Therefore, entering this vehicle requires relying on someone with extensive hearing and thinking. As it says in the *Transcending Thought*: The various categories of words, expressions, and philosophical tenets, The nine stages are measured by the mind. For those who are far from the essential points of manifestation, Future disciples and beings with coarse thoughts, Because they cling to words, they cannot be matured. The final stage of this teaching Is called "the place of practice with faith and desire." The vast elaboration that transcends words, This tantra of secret certainty, By relying on the path of manifestation, Self-knowing awareness is united. The essence of all Buddhas gathered into one, The nature of reality of self-awareness, Practice without mixing with equality. That is the stage of transcending words. So it is said. If someone thinks this contradicts the statement that there is no difference between sharp and dull faculties, it is because past karma has awakened. If one hears this teaching from a qualified lama in this life, elaboration will be cut off at once, and one will not seek more profound teachings than this, but will focus solely on Tögal, concentrating one's practice. This is what is meant for those people. But for ordinary people who cling to words with elaboration, even if they see Tögal, they do not have certainty, so they need the teachings of elaboration. To be liberated from that, they need to cut off the superimpositions of many hearings, so the importance of hearing and thinking is emphasized. To sum it up, in this present age, an extraordinary faith in Tögal has arisen. If there is not even a speck of clinging in Trekchö, then one is fortunate, but there are not many such people. With this faith alone, one can travel the path, and diligent practice alone is sufficient. If that is not the case, but one takes the name of a lama who shows others, then one must have extensive hearing and thinking, because one must know that one's own and others' paths are not mistaken. In particular, the teacher must not be mistaken on the path. If he is mistaken, then everything he teaches will go wrong, so first it is important to value extensive hearing and thinking. In this way, having cut off the superimpositions of what is to be known through external hearing and thinking, then internally, through meditation, abide in the state of the nature of reality, the secret realm
