There are three essential points of the realm: the general explanation of the essential points of the realm, the specific explanation of the essential points of the lamp, and the determination of the state of the space of awareness. First, the outer realm of empty space and the inner realm of the lamp of pure space are clear as the realm in which the continuum of awareness arises. As it says in the *Transcending Thought*: \"Space is outer and inner. The outer grasps the cloudless sky. The inner space is the path of the lamp.\" Thus it is. Because awareness is entrusted to the outer realm of empty space, an experience of emptiness, clarity, and purity arises that is similar to it, therefore space is explained. That very text says: \"This is the essential point of the realm: In the empty outer realm without clouds, the yogi dwells in the path of the sky. This is inseparable from the nature of reality.\" And in the *Summary*: \"What is that meaning? Look at the pure sky.\" And in the *Intermediate Mother*: \"Those who wish to meditate on the Perfection of Wisdom should make space their yoga.\" And in the *Great Sky*: \"The yogi dwells in the path of the sky. Empty space is unborn, and the unborn is like space.\" And in the *Transcending Thought*: \"The characteristic of the appearance of the realm is that the sky is blue and clear, without dust. Light and color are the nature of space, and the self-appearance of the five wisdoms is clear.\" Thus it is. In this way, the appearance of inner space in the outer sky is called the space in which appearance and emptiness are not two. As the former text says: \"Outer and inner are all the space of reality. In the realm of pure activity, Buddhas and sentient beings are not two. How could they be tainted by karma?\" Thus it is. In this way, the realm of empty space appears. Within the confines of space, awareness is placed without movement or agitation, and then one looks. This is the view of Dzogchen, which sees the target of transmission as the direct face of one's own nature, and considers it to be the view of the inseparability of space and awareness. As the *Wordless Scripture* says: \"The unborn, direct Buddha sees the realm of pure, empty space.\" Thus it is. How is it seen? It is seen by knowing how to look and how to see, which will be explained below. Second, there are three essential points of the lamp:" } ] ============================================================ྔོན་འགྲོ། དངོས་གཞི། རྗེས་སོ། །དང་པོ་ནི། སྤྱིར་འཁོར་བའི་བྱ་བ་སྤངས་ལ་དབེན་པར་གནས་པ། བྱེ་བྲག་ཏུ་ཞག་ཉི་ཤུ་རྩ་གཅིག་གི་བར་ལ་ཕྱིའི་བྱ་བ་ཐམས་ཅད་སྤང་ནས་མཚམས་དམ་པར་བཅད་དེ་བླ་མ་དང་མཁའ་འགྲོ་མཆོད་ནས་རྒྱ་མཚོ་ཨར་གཏད་ཀྱི་མུན་ཁྲིད་ལ་འཇུག་པས། སྒོམ་ཁང་མུན་པས་བརྒྱན་པར་གཅིག་པུར་མི་གཡོ་བ་གསུམ་གྱིས་གནས་པ་སྟེ། ཐལ་འགྱུར་ལས། སྒྲོན་མ་ལྟེམས་པ་འདི་ལྟ་སྟེ། །དད་ལྡན་འཁོར་བའི་ཡིད་བྲལ་བས། །བླ་མ་མཆོད་དང་གཏོར་མ་བྱ། །འཁོར་བའི་འབྲེལ་བ་ཀུན་སྤངས་ལ། །དབེན་པའི་ཕྱོགས་སམ་དུར་ཁྲོད་དུ། །གྲོགས་སྤངས་གཅིག་པུར་གནས་པར་བྱ། །ཞེས་སོ། །དངོས་གཞི་ལ་རྩོལ་མེད་དང་། རྩོལ་བཅས་གཉིས་རྩོལ་མེད་ལའང་རང་གདངས་ནམ་མཁའི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་དང་། རང་གནད་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་གཉིས་ལས། དང་པོ་ནི་ལྟ་སྟངས་དང་གཟིགས་སྟངས་གསུམ་བསྟུན་ཏེ་སྨིན་མཚམས་ནས་སོར་བཅུ་གཉིས་ཀྱི་ཚད་ཀྱི་ནམ་མཁའ་ལ་མིག་མི་འགུལ་སེམས་མ་ཡེངས་རླུང་རབ་ཏུ་དལ་བ་གསུམ་གནད་དུ་བསྟུན་པ་སྟེ། སྒྲོན་མ་སྣང་བྱེད་ལས། མཚན་དུས་རང་གི་གནས་ཁང་དུ། །ཉིན་མོ་བཞིན་དུ་རྟག་ཏུ་བལྟ། །ཞེས་སོ། །དེ་ལ་དང་པོ་དུ་བ་ལྟ་བུ་དང་། སྤྲིན་དཀར་པོ་ལང་ལོང་ལྟ་བུ་དང་། སྨིག་རྒྱུ་ལྟ་བུ་དང་། སྐར་མ་ལྟ་བུ་དང་། མེ་སྟག་ལྟ་བུ་དང་། མར་མེ་ལྟ་བུ་དང་། མཐིང་ག་ཁྱབ་པ་ཆེན་པོའི་འོད་རེ་ཁཱ་ནག་པོའི་རྣམ་པ་ན་རོ་ལྟ་བུ་མཐོང་སྟེ། འོད་ཟེར་དང་ ཐིག་ལེ་དང་དབྱིངས་རིག་གི་སྟོང་གཟུགས་ཚད་མེད་པ་འཆར་རོ། །རྒྱ་མཚོའི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་ནི་ལྟ་སྟངས་དང་གཟིགས་སྟངས་རླུང་གནད་གསུམ་བསྟུན་ལ་མཐེབ་མཛུབ་གསུམ་གྱིས་མི་བྱ་བར་གཉིས་ཀྱིས་ཙཀྵུའི་འབྲས་བུ་ལྟེམས་པས་དང་པོ་དམར་ངམ་པ་དང་ལྗང་སེར་དང་མཐིང་གའི་སྣང་བ་ལ་འོད་ཙེར་ཙེར་ཡོད་པ་སྙམ་བྱེད་པ་དང་། ཐིག་ལེ་སྟོང་པའི་སྒྲོན་མ་དངོས་དམར་སེར་དུ་འཆར་དུས་དར་ཅིག་བལྟེམས་ལ་ཤེས་པ་སྣང་བ་དེར་བལྟ་བ་མ་ཡེངས་པས་མཐེབ་མཛུབ་བཏང་ནས་རྒྱ་མཚོ་དྭངས་སུ་བཅུག་ལ་བལྟའོ། །ཡང་སྣང་བ་དེ་ཀུན་མི་གསལ་བར་སོང་དུས་ལྟེམ་ཞིང་ཡང་དྭངས་སུ་བཅུག་པས་ཞག་གསུམ་བཞི་ན་མ་ལྟེམས་ཀྱང་སྣང་ནས་དེ་ཉིད་ལ་དྭངས་བཅུག་ནས་བསྒོམས་པ་གཅིག་པུས་ཆོག་གོ། །སྣང་བ་ནི་རྩ་བཟང་བ་རྣམས་ལ་འོད་དང་། ཐིག་ལེ་དང་། ལུ་གུ་རྒྱུད་དང་། དབྱིངས་སྣང་དཔག་ཏུ་མེད་པ་འཆར་ལ། ངན་པ་རྣམས་ལ་འཕེལ་སྣང་ཅུང་ཟད་ཉུང་སྟེ། དོན་ལ་ཤེས་པ་སྟོང་གསལ་གྱི་ངང་ལ་བསྒོམས་པས་འཆར་སྣང་མང་ཉུང་འདྲའོ།

Preliminaries, Main Practice, and Subsequent Practice. Firstly, in general, abandoning worldly activities and dwelling in solitude. Specifically, for twenty-one days, abandoning all external activities, strictly sealing oneself off, making offerings to the Lama and Dakinis, and entering the dark retreat guidance of "Entrusting to the Ocean." The meditation chamber is adorned with darkness, and one abides with the three immovables of body, speech, and mind. As it is said in the Ornament of Clear Realization: "Like a flickering lamp wick, the faithful, detached from samsara, make offerings to the Lama and perform Tormas, severing all connections with samsara, in a solitary place or charnel ground, abandoning companions and dwelling alone." The Main Practice is divided into effortless and effortful. The effortless is further divided into the Yoga of Self-Sound Space and the Yoga of Self-Essence Ocean. The first is to align the three ways of looking: the line of sight, the manner of seeing, and the posture. Without moving the eyes, without the mind wandering, and with the breath extremely slow, these three are aligned as the key points. As it is said in the Lamp Illuminating: "At night, in one's own dwelling, always look as if it were daytime." Initially, one sees things like smoke, like billowing white clouds, like a mirage, like stars, like sparks, like a candle, and like a vast expanse of deep blue light, like the appearance of black lines, like Naropa. Then, limitless empty forms of light rays, bindus, and the wisdom of Dharmadhatu will appear. The Ocean Yoga is to align the three key points of the way of looking, the manner of seeing, and the breath. Instead of using the thumb and index finger, gently press the eyeballs with two fingers. Initially, one perceives reddish, yellowish-green, and bluish appearances, feeling as if there are shimmering lights. When the light of the bindu emptiness actually appears as red and yellow, press gently for a moment, and without distraction, look at the awareness that appears. Then release the thumb and index finger, allowing the ocean to become clear, and look. If all the appearances become unclear, press again and allow it to become clear again. After three or four days, even without pressing, the appearances will arise. Simply allow it to become clear and meditate on that alone. For those with good channels, light, bindus, strings of pearls, and immeasurable Dharmadhatu appearances will arise. For those with poor channels, the increase of appearances will be slightly less. In essence, meditating in the state of awareness, empty and clear, the amount of appearances will be similar.
