The Fourth Vajra Place: Extensive Explanation of the Place of Wisdom. The Fourth Vajra Place: Extensive Explanation of the Place of Wisdom. Then, to establish the dwelling place of rigpa's wisdom, there are two aspects: a general indication of the actual dwelling place, and a specific explanation of the essential points of the Secret Supreme King. The first aspect has three parts: the place, the manner of dwelling, and the example. First, the actual place of rigpa's wisdom is in the precious, radiant womb of the heart. Its radiance dwells in the palace of the conch-shell vase that blazes, the palace of the seeing eye, and the palace of the moving channels. As it is said in the *Extremes Severed Sutra*: "In the precious palace of citta, the eight-cornered gate where jewels gather, are the five wisdoms and the five kayas, and also the five powers of wind and consciousness. All are of the nature of five and five." And: "Within the general and citta channels, dwells the dharma-nature of unmade purity." And as it is said in the *Jeweled Array Sutra*: "The precious eight-cornered palace, the palace of the moving channels, the palace of the conch-shell vase, the palace of the seeing eye, in these four great palaces, dwells the great secret of all secret mantras." And as it is said in the *Self-Arisen Sutra*: "The self-awareness of all sentient beings dwells in the center of the heart." And as it is said in the *Lion's Perfected Power Sutra*: "Emaho! The wisdom of rigpa itself, in all buddhas and sentient beings, dwells in a way that is unchanging. And this is how it dwells: the precious palace of citta, the palace of the precious channels, the palace of the utterly pure conch-shell, and the palace of the brighuta. In those great palaces, the essence of rigpa dwells like a power. And this is how it is explained: in some places it dwells as a kaya, in some places as a bindu, in one place it dwells as a way of rays of light, in all places it dwells as a vajra chain. Thus, it indicates the sutra of dwelling." And as it is said in the *Pearl Garland Sutra*: "The kayas of the buddhas themselves are complete without being produced in the center of the heart. The one unchanging kaya dwells in a way that pervades everywhere. The one mind that pervades everything, its own original nature dwells in itself. The kaya of the vajra chain dwells continuously without ceasing. Because the vajra chain is numerous, the partial kayas are inconceivable. In the one that exists and is not nonexistent, all appearances appear everywhere."

Thus it is said, and from the introduction of adornment it says: The meaning is that in the center of one's own body, great wisdom dwells in the heart. Thus it is said, and from the Manjushri Magical Net it says: The auspicious swirl of blazing good light. Thus it is. Secondly, there are three aspects to abiding: the essence abides as the body, the nature abides as a drop of light, and compassion abides as a lamp of wisdom. Firstly, the peaceful body abides in the heart, and from the play of its radiance, the wrathful body abides in the conch house. As it says in the Jeweled Array: Ema! The way of abiding of awareness is that it abides in the center of each citta. Holding the part of the two parents, it abides in the manner of means and wisdom. Holding the part of the father is the body of means, holding the part of the mother is the body of wisdom. It abides in the manner of light and rays. It is well adorned with space and awareness, and abides as a spontaneously perfect great bindu. As it says in Utter Transformation: In the general body of all sentient beings, it pervades in the manner of the wind of Dharma-nature. Subtle, light, moving, and separating, it abides as the body in the place of citta. The body of radiance has five aspects, each holding the characteristics of its own family. As it says in the Perfection of Play: The treasury of the great ground of being, the source of Dharma, abides as a mass of awareness-wisdom. The treasury of objects, the ungraspable appearance, abides as the space of awareness-wisdom. The secret gathering, the treasury of eight-cornered jewels, awareness-wisdom is in the form of father and mother. The life gathering, the treasury of four-cornered jewels, awareness-wisdom abides as a bindu. The treasury of the palace of the meaning-gathering bhāṇḍa, awareness-wisdom abides as a wrathful body. The treasury of the two unobstructed clear doors, abides as space and a string of pearls. The treasury of emptiness, signlessness, and sky, awareness-wisdom abides as light. This is what is shown as the secret treasury. Thus it is. Secondly, the nature abiding as a drop of light is, as it says in the Jeweled Array: The way of abiding of the bindu is shown like this: In the channels, the bindu abides like a body. The measure of its greatness is equal to the edge of the sky. The measure of its smallness is like one-tenth of a horse's tail. The measure of its clarity is like the disc of the sun and moon. It is also clear, shining, and glorious. It goes, comes, and stays. Thus it is. Thirdly, abiding as the lamp of compassion is, as it says in Self-Arisen: That is also the four lamps, abiding in a way that is without cessation. Thus it is. Thirdly, the example is, the essence abiding as the body is like the body of a vase.
