In the realm of reality, the pure lands of the six realms appear, spontaneously converging into a single, unelaborated bindu. This is: the nature of samsara, the cities of the six realms, are merely reflections appearing from the dharmadhatu. The various appearances of birth, death, happiness, and suffering are like illusory spectacles in the expanse of mind itself. Existing yet not existing, appearing yet without foundation, like clouds in the sky, they are merely adventitious occurrences. Neither existing nor not existing, their nature transcends all extremes, they rest serenely in the state of unelaborated bindu. The phenomena of appearance and existence, especially the nature of the deluded appearances of the six classes of beings, these empty forms without inherent existence, appear as utterly deluded to the unawakened, like seeing illusory spectacles in a dream. To yogis, they appear merely as illusions. This nature of non-existent, clear appearance, arising suddenly, even if it arises due to a slight cause of non-awakening, has no essence or nature. It is like the reflection appearing as a magical illusion from an eye-spell. It is delightful to experience alone without examination, but when examined, it is devoid of essence. As the Great Garuda says: "Self-appearance, free from cause and condition, is naturally unobscured. Effortless, unique, unmade by anyone, the essence of original perfection enjoys the realm of spontaneous accomplishment. The water of illusion arises from form, a hundred essences and examinations exhaust the mind." And as the All-Creating King says: "The six realms of beings are empty, merely labeled with names." Placing beings in karma and afflictions, but when analyzed, they are without basis, free from the extremes of one and many, and empty of essence. As the Great Garuda says: "Desire is impossible from the beginning in this mind. On what does the ripening karmic imprint, without basis, rely? Like a sky flower without a place of birth, without support, the mind has no place in the body, the karmic imprint is impossible to rely on." And as the Garland of Pearls says: "The five afflictions of sentient beings, in reality, do not exist. Like clouds in the sky, they are merely adventitious causes. Those clouds arise from the sky itself. Likewise, if you know they dissolve into the sky, it is called the state of indivisible oneness. Likewise, if you know that the stains of affliction are self-arisen and self-pacified, how can sentient beings become bound?" And as the Commentary on Valid Cognition says: "The nature of mind is clear light."

It is like saying, "Defilements are adventitious." Now, to gather the meaning of these into the Vajradhatu of Great Equality: The nature of mind is the nature of bodhicitta, like the sky, it is pure, without birth, death, happiness, or suffering. Things are without distinction, liberated from the dharma of samsara and nirvana. It cannot be indicated by "this," because the space is vast and boundless. It does not change, it does not move, it is spontaneously accomplished, uncreated. Having become enlightened in the radiant Vajra Essence, all things are naturally arising fields of bliss, the very state of spontaneously equal supreme enlightenment. The essence of awareness, the unchanging nature like the sky, is the essence of suchness. In that state, samsara and nirvana are primordially liberated, having become enlightened in the Vajra Essence, it is revealed as the supreme nature of spontaneously equal enlightenment. As the Kunjed Gyalpo Tantra says: Whatever appears, is one with suchness. Here, let no one alter it. In the uncorrected king of equality, the state of non-conceptual dharmakaya is spontaneously accomplished. And: Mind is the essence of suchness, all dharmas are accomplished in suchness. Do not alter suchness, do not seek other than the essence. If you search, even the Buddhas will not find it from the dharmadhatu. It has already been done in the past, so there is no need to do it now. Since it has already been accomplished in the past, do not cultivate it now, do not think of anything, rest in equality. So it is said. In this tantra, mind-essence refers to the self-arisen wisdom that is free from the extremes of elaboration, which is called bodhicitta. In the expression of verses, it is also called mind, as in: Buddhas other than mind, I, Kunjed, have not taught. So it is said. The mind that projects towards objects is called the mind of skillful activity or play. It is not the actual bodhicitta. It is important to know the difference between these two. From the Dharmadhatu Precious Treasury: Appearing as the realm of existence, Commentary on the Second Chapter. Second, Commentary on the Chapter on Appearing as the Realm of Existence.
