And distinguishing between what is correct and incorrect is the way to establish the two truths. Therefore, in this treatise as well, it should be understood as it says, "By way of distinguishing well the two truths of convention." It is important to distinguish that the standard of the ultimate truth is not to prove that nirvana is analyzable or truly existent, but to differentiate. Furthermore, in the object of experience with dualistic appearances, these various phenomena of unstable and changing conventional appearances, if examined like illusions, water moons, emanations, and reflections, there is not even a mote of inherently established nature. Although there is none, the appearances, whatever they may be, if thoroughly analyzed by the reasoning of the ultimate truth, not even the slightest atom of matter, which is the basis of the coarse and the root of the subtle, can be established. Therefore, it is empty like the sky, and because the characteristics of each dharma are completely cut off, it cannot be analyzed. However, without analysis or examination, merely in the object of experience of ease or delight, various kinds of natures appear, for example, like illusory horses and elephants that appear even though they do not exist. If asked, what is the cause of appearing even though it does not exist? It arises from the habitual imprints habituated from beginningless time, from dependent origination with a nature of delusion. For example, like the appearance of elephants and so on in the eyes of a person who has eaten Dhatura. Therefore, these deluded appearances, whose nature is emptiness, that is, the absence of self of phenomena and the absence of self of persons, is the reality or mode of existence of that appearance. Therefore, the aspect of emptiness is called the ultimate, and the aspect of appearance is established as the conventional. Therefore, from the very moment of appearance, there is no establishment of arising and abiding, etc. Therefore, the nature or mode of existence of that dharma is the state of being inseparably empty and apparent, and therefore it is the nature of indivisible truth. Second, the path, samsara, and nirvana are inseparable: the nature of samsara, which is originally the nature of unborn, the pure aspect of emptiness is the ultimate truth of the expanse, and the aspect of knowledge is the ultimate truth of clear light, thus showing the ultimate truth of wisdom and fruition. Furthermore, the awareness of self-arisen wisdom itself has five aspects of reversal, and based on that, the five kayas arise, therefore, the ultimate truth of fruition and wisdom is clear light.

Just as it merges into water. Thus, emptiness, the realm of reality, and luminosity, the wisdom, are inseparable and indivisible. The very appearance of samsara is, in its true state, naturally in nirvana, and its nature is such that samsara and nirvana are inseparable, and the two truths are indistinguishable. Although the ultimate truth of the realm of reality and the ultimate truth of luminosity can be regarded as inseparable, if one wonders how samsara, which is stained, can become nirvana, which is stainless, then, for impure beings, the stained dharma of samsara, which is gathered by all sufferings, appears as samsara. However, if samsara were established as it appears, it would not be possible to become nirvana. However, if samsara is analyzed by reason, it is not established. Therefore, there is not even a little of the nature of samsara that is stained, because from the beginning it is the ultimate truth of the pure realm of reality. Since the basis is regarded as different and the dharmas are distinguished into different forms, it is not established in the true sense. Therefore, in the ultimate sense, samsara and nirvana are inseparable, which shows the equality of existence and peace. Apart from this, in the true sense of reality, to regard samsara and nirvana as different is a wrong idea, because it is an extreme delusion about the nature of things, and one has not understood the profound meaning of the sutras of definitive meaning. Nevertheless, even in the mere appearance of erroneous terms, one should not equate virtues and sins, faults and merits, with the view of verbal non-differentiation of samsara and nirvana without having realized it. Because for those who are deluded, cause and effect exist infallibly as they appear, it is important to know the subtle aspects of what to adopt and abandon in virtues and sins without error. Third, the inseparability of the base and the result to be obtained: At all times, the nature of reality does not change from its own state, and whatever is true in the eyes of the noble ones, the nature of ultimate truth is naturally luminous, the essence of the Sugata, which exists from the beginning or is spontaneously accomplished without depending on causes and conditions. So, what is its characteristic? Its essence is emptiness and its nature is luminosity. That is, the wisdom of awareness that is free from ignorance, in the way that clarity and emptiness are inseparable and free from objects, has the nature of self-illumination, that is, the nature of reality in which clarity, emptiness, and awareness are inseparable. This itself does not depend on the causes and conditions of the path.
