那摩 guru-ve(藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思:皈依上师)。

Commentary on Chapter Eight. Commentary on Chapter Eight. Here concludes the commentary on Chapter Eight. Namo Guruve. In this root chapter, among the three paths that necessarily arise for the self-nature result of the three vehicles, here is the unsurpassed mantra. Among these, there are two, the generation stage and the completion stage, and here the completion stage is taught, which is the essence of the profound key points of all tantras. Before meditating, one must understand the nature of reality. Although there are many established orders of philosophical tenets, here, the definitive essence that unites the key points of all sutras and tantras is the inseparability of the two truths. This is the uncommon realm of the Buddhas, therefore it is secret; it is the source of all dharmas, therefore it is a treasury. To establish this, first, establish the basis of the inseparability of truth; second, practice the inseparability of the path, samsara, and nirvana; third, the object to be attained, the basis and result, are repeated inseparably. This is the first of the three. What is the nature of the reality called the inseparability of truth? It is the primordial luminosity of wisdom or the essence of the Sugata. The name luminosity signifies both being free from darkness and possessing appearance. Similarly, it signifies being unstained by obscurations and possessing the knowing aspect of wisdom. Therefore, it is called wisdom free from obscurations. This is shown from the perspective of the knowing aspect of awareness. Moreover, from beginningless time or from the very beginning, it does not abide in any extreme, therefore it is utterly peaceful, that is, the nature of non-proliferation. Or, it abides in its own nature. This shows the empty aspect. The example of these two, awareness and emptiness, is like the essence of the sun, luminosity, and the sky without obscurations. The knowing aspect is spontaneously accomplished and the nature is unconditioned. Such a realm of the union of awareness and emptiness is naturally pure, without depending on actions like the path. That is, it is untouched by both the faults of conditioned samsara and the one-sided peace of the unconditioned, therefore it is great purity. Because it has always existed in such a state, in essence, appearance and emptiness are individually inseparable, and there is neither the need to truly establish nirvana nor the need to eliminate the truth of samsara. Therefore, faults do not extend outward, and merits

There is no coming either. In that case, since the activity of conventional sound and concept does not operate there, the elaboration of the conventional is completely cut off. Samsara, nirvana, appearance, emptiness, faults, virtues, etc., all that is measured by sound and concept is conventional because it cannot withstand examination, and all their activity is completely pacified. Therefore, since it transcends the realm of distinguishing "this is conventional truth and this is ultimate truth," it does not establish even the two truths of imputation and attachment, such as the appearance of birth by the mind of philosophical tenets is conventional, and abiding without birth is ultimate. Therefore, it transcends that, and all elaborations of grasping at existence and non-existence are pacified. The reason for this is that the two truths are inseparable in reality, so is it established in the conventional or not established in the ultimate? The key is inseparability. In conclusion, in this way, the essence of phenomena is inseparable from the nature of appearance and emptiness, and cannot be divided into two. Therefore, the conventional and ultimate truths are also inseparable, which is only expressed in words and phrases. Even if the essence is like that, relying on the way of appearance, and distinguishing them separately only in terms of mere words, like this, all the phenomena of samsara that are included in illusion and appear under the influence of the concept of grasping at subject and object, if examined, are untrue, moving, and impermanent, so they are deceptive conventional truths. Because they are difficult to understand and profound, all elaborations are pacified, and the wisdom of knowledge is clear and radiant, and all suffering is abandoned, so the phenomena included in the great nirvana are beyond the phenomena of dust and moment, so they are free from the pain of change and have an unchanging nature, and are considered the ultimate truth. This way of establishing conventional and ultimate truths, establishing them by the way of appearance and the way of being, is to establish them on the appearance part and the emptiness part, which is the same and equal in both samsara and nirvana. Here, the school of establishing the way of being and the way of appearance as consistent and inconsistent as ultimate and conventional, there are two such great traditions, which also appear frequently in the sutras, so do not confuse them with each other. This latter way of establishing is correctly judged by the measure of nominal reasoning.
