Thus it is. Therefore, form is the completely imputed, appearing as if it exists when it does not, and because it is not real, it cannot produce results. Mind and mental factors are other-powered, because they arise from a previous similar type. Non-associated formations are the states of form, all of which are completely imputed, and the states of mind and mental factors are other-powered. Unconditioned suchness is the thoroughly established, while others are states of the thoroughly established. From the Distinguishing the Middle from the Extremes: "Whatever discriminations, observe whatever phenomena appear, that itself is the completely imputed, its very nature is not there. The nature of the other-powered, is discrimination, arising from conditions. Establishment is prior to that. What is it that constantly becomes non-existent?" Thus it is. If we establish it from the perspective of substantially existent and nominally existent, form, mind, mental factors, contact, and so on, twenty-three in total, and suchness are substantially existent. Mental factors such as volition, twenty-nine in total, and all non-associated compositional factors, space, and the four cessations are nominally existent. From the Compendium: "Should suchness be said to be substantially existent, or should it be said to be nominally existent? It should be said to be substantially existent." Thus it is. If we establish it from the perspective of conventional truth and ultimate truth, the other-powered is the ultimate truth of the characteristic, the thoroughly established is the ultimate truth of the nature, and the completely imputed is the truth of conventional truth. From the Commentary on Distinguishing the Middle from the Extremes: "The ultimate truth is only the thoroughly established, because the other-powered and the completely imputed do not exist in the ultimate truth." If you think this is contradictory, it is consistent, the other-powered temporarily has the ability to perform a function, and exists only in the aspect of clear experience, therefore it is said in that way, and it is distinguished in that aspect. For things, the first two are conventional, the latter exists as ultimate. Combining it with the intention of the Buddha: For mind and mental factors, the emptiness of self and phenomena, this is the intention of all the Buddha's teachings, therefore, all the words spoken in that way are of definitive meaning, while saying that there is a self and form, and saying that there is absolutely nothing, are all of provisional meaning, because saying that all phenomena are empty of inherent existence, all are without characteristics of the completely imputed, and the other-powered arises from itself.

Having no essence refers to the fact that, in the perfectly established nature, ultimately things have no substantial essence. Saying there is no consciousness refers to the consciousness of the completely imputed. Saying unborn and unceasing also refers to the fact that there is no self-arising and that cessation is not established as a substance. Saying that dependent origination is not from self, not from other, etc., also refers to the fact that it does not arise from just one cause or condition, nor does it exist in aggregation. Saying naturally pure also refers to the absence of the characteristics of the completely imputed. Saying that all dharmas are inexpressible also means that, like a mute's dream, it is the domain of the wisdom of self-awareness of the noble ones, but all that is shown to others is merely an imputation on the general meaning, and in reality, it is inexpressible. Saying that all dharmas are free from elaboration also means that it is not the object of sound and concept, because all appearances in sound expression and conceptualization are imputed to the general meaning, therefore, the nature of mind itself actually has no expression and conceptualization. Saying that all dharmas are like illusions also refers to dependence on conditions and appearance as grasper and grasped. If there is nothing, because it does not depend on conditions, it cannot be said to be an illusion at all. Therefore, saying that all dharmas are emptiness is only reasonable for the Mind-Only school, not like self-emptiness, where form is empty by itself, but like pillars, etc., being empty by others. Other-powered mind and mental factors are empty. If asked what is negated, it is the self of person, the self of phenomena, and the duality of grasper and grasped that are empty. If there is nothing, because there is no basis for negation, even the name of emptiness cannot be spoken. The object of meditation is selflessness, therefore, one does not cling to other-powered nature, but abides in a state of not focusing on anything. As it says in the Compendium of Grounds: 'These are only mind-only. Having focused in this way, whatever is placed in front, one does not abide even in that.' The nature of practice is to focus on the immeasurable beings who are merely labeled as sentient beings in the continuum of moments of mind, and for their benefit, to practice the six perfections for three countless eons. The fruit of accomplishment is the qualities of the Buddha.
