The reason for observing in this way is because of possessing and not possessing seven great qualities. Among them, the great object is the ability to aim at the Dharma-nature, which is like the sky, while the small cannot. The great accomplishment is the very accomplishment of great benefit for both oneself and others during the time of the path and practice. Hearers and solitary realizers only have self-interest. Great wisdom is the wisdom that combines emptiness of the two selves with compassion, which the lesser vehicle does not have. Great diligence is the enthusiasm for the benefit of sentient beings for countless eons, which hearers and solitary realizers do not have. Great skill in means is the very accomplishment of meaning by not abiding in the extremes of samsara and nirvana, which hearers and solitary realizers do not have. Great accomplishment is the possession of infinite qualities such as the power to benefit others from the Buddha, which the lesser vehicle does not have. Great enlightened activity is the very spontaneous occurrence of benefiting others as long as samsara exists, which hearers and solitary realizers do not have. The Great Vehicle is superior because it has these qualities. The Ornament of the Sutras says: "The great object itself, and likewise the two accomplishments, wisdom, diligence, and effort, and whatever skill in means, and the truly great accomplishment, and the great activity of the Buddha, because it possesses seven great qualities, it is certainly called the Great Vehicle." Among these, it is especially superior because of skillful means and compassion. The Precious Garland says: "From the Hearer Vehicle, the aspiration and conduct of the Bodhisattva are not fully explained, how can it become the Great Vehicle?" In short, all skillful means, wisdom, and liberation are like the vast sky, accomplishing the benefit of both oneself and others even during the time of the path, and bringing happiness and joy. It also brings benefits from the Buddha. The Compendium says: "This vehicle is like the sky, an immeasurable great mansion, the supreme vehicle that obtains joy, happiness, and bliss. Riding on it, all sentient beings turn away from suffering. Therefore, it is well proclaimed that it is the Great Vehicle." The explanation of the Great Vehicle itself, which has special characteristics, is: Although the nature of the Supreme Vehicle is not different, from the point of view of guiding, there are only three, namely, Mind-Only, Autonomy, and Consequence. The essence of the Great Vehicle is that all phenomena are without inherent existence, accumulating the two accumulations of the path for countless eons, and the fruit is the benefit of others from enlightenment.

Although their inherent nature is the same and without difference, the great teachers who guide the supreme scriptures differ slightly in their interpretation of the scriptures, and are known as the Mind-Only (Cittamatra), the Svatantrika, and the Prasangika. They summarize the views of the treatises as the views of the Buddha. First, the Yogacara Cittamatra is explained: The Mind-Only school believes that consciousness is ultimately real. It explains from the two ways of general and specific characteristics, as well as the commonly appearing self-illuminating wisdom, and the completely conceptualized, other-powered, and perfectly established, etc. Among them, the great teacher Vasubandhu and his followers also believe that all the views of the Buddha are Mind-Only, and believe that no other tenets are established. The commentary says: The root of benefiting beings is Vasubandhu, who mainly follows his own wishes, relies on the inner knowable, and thus obtains liberation. Therefore, this treatise generally explains the tenets of the Mind-Only school and explains them separately. First, it is divided into three parts: the proposition, the proof, and the conclusion. First, the proposition is that the wisdom that is empty of both the apprehended and the apprehender is self-knowing and self-illuminating, and is considered ultimately real. As the Pramanavarttika says: The mind has no other object of experience, and its experience is not produced by other things. Because the apprehended and the apprehender are both empty, it is now self-manifest. And in the commentary of the Thirty Verses, it says: If, like the knowable, the apprehended and the apprehender are also conventional truths, and not ultimate truths, then this statement is unreasonable. Because conventional truths without a basis are not established, there is no real existence in conventional truths. For the apprehended and the apprehender, if it is believed that there is an apprehender but no apprehended, then it is the same as the Pratyekabuddha; if neither exists, then it is the same as the one who speaks of emptiness, so how should it be explained? Even if both the objects such as form and the mind that clings to the objects do not exist, because it is believed that there is self-knowing and self-illuminating that experiences the emptiness of the two, it is not the same as emptiness and Pratyekabuddha. Moreover, because the apprehended is false, the mind that clings to the apprehended is also false, so it is not established in the ultimate truth. Because if there is no apprehended, there is no apprehender. Second, the proof is that external appearances are other things
