The first, middle, and last three months of spring, the first, middle, and last three months of autumn, and the first, middle, and last three months of winter, totaling twelve months. These (months) successively revolve around the four great continents and eight subcontinents, a total of twelve places, like the twelve internal and external sources of birth and half of the twelve links of dependent origination, also changing successively into the so-called twelve houses. Specifically, starting from the middle month of spring, they are: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces. The months are counted from the middle month of spring. Among them, the middle month of summer, Cancer, and the middle month of winter, Capricorn, are where the sun begins to turn back significantly. In one year, six days need to be discarded. Starting from the dark moon of the last month of autumn, when six months have passed halfway, there will be a situation where one day cannot be made up, that is, when the sky is empty, it will become the first day. Therefore, the moon's movement in the sky has two speeds, fast and slow. When a month moves slowly, there are thirty days in a month; when it is fast, there are only twenty-nine days in a month. In one year, there are six months in which one day cannot be made up, and six months in which one day can be made up. This is because the operation of the coarse winds in the bodies of sentient beings is deficient. Each breath is regarded as a pair, and the increase or decrease of six breaths causes the surplus and deficiency of dates. Therefore, the remainder of those months is discarded here. Usually, for people in their prime, there are 21,600 breaths in one day and night. If the number of breaths decreases, there will be a lack of days, which in turn will lead to the abandonment of months. There are also some teachers who believe that there are 360 days and nights in a year, but in reality there are 371 dates. After deducting the calculation of days and nights, the remaining eleven dates are discarded, and accumulated every year, one month is discarded every three years. By knowing the count of years in this way, the lifespan and time of sentient beings can be measured. Part 3: From the aggregation of scattered letters at the end of nouns, if the origin of nouns is examined, it will be found that they themselves are scattered letters. Like hair, ropes, yak tails, and tender grass, the ends of nouns are all individual scattered letters.

It is also like that. Letters combine to form names, such as "Lotus (པདྨ་)." When "lotus (པད་)" and "flower (མ་)" exist separately, the name of a flower does not appear, but it arises through combination. Therefore, a letter is the collection of sound and the meaning of sound, as expressed by the word "Lotus (པདྨ་)." What is written down is called the "suffix" of the letter. That is, one letter has one suffix, such as "father (ཕ་)." One letter has two suffixes, such as the two forms of "མ་" and "གུ་གུ་ཨི་" in the word "person (མི་)." One letter has three suffixes, such as "auspiciousness (དཔལ་)" in the word "ད་," "པ་," and "ལ་." One letter has four suffixes, such as "wet (བྱིང་)" in the word "བ་," "ཡ་སྟ་," "གུ་གུ་," and "ང་." One letter has five suffixes, such as "complete (རྫོགས་)" in the word "ར་," "ཛ་," "ན་རོ་," "ག་," and "ས་." Now, Tibet has up to five suffixes, and there are also six suffixes like "walking (བསྐྱོད་)." In short, the thirty-four consonants plus the embellishment of vowels can form letters that can express meanings such as names. The initial letter "ཀ་" plus the life letter "ཨ་," when pronouncing "ཀ་," naturally produces the sound "ཀ་ཨ་." Adding "གུ་གུ་" becomes "ཨི་," pronounced as "ཀི་ཨི་." "ན་རོ་" is "ཨོ," "འགྲེང་བུ་" is "ཨེ," "ཞབས་ཀྱུ་" is "ཨུ་," these are all sounds that are naturally produced. These annotations such as "གི་གུ་" are also present in Tibetan letters. The consonants are summarized into twenty-four letters, and the remaining six and a half are "ཅ་ཆ་ཇ་ཞ་ཟ་འ་," of which "འ་" is considered half. Indian letters are also distinguished by adding long vowel marks, which are usually absent. In Tibetan, pre-fixes, suffixes, and long vowel changes often occur. The vowels "ཨ་ཨཱ་" of these letters are the life of the letters, so they are contained within them. "ཨི་" is "གུ་གུ," "ཨེ་" is "འགྲེང་བུ," "ཨུ་ཨཱུ་" is "ཞབས་ཀྱུ," "ཨོ་" is "ན་རོ," "ར་" is "ར་སྟ," "ཡ་" is "ཡ་སྟ." In this way, letters and the suffixes of letters are all single, like a strand of hair, a feather, or a blade of grass. Combining them forms names, etc., like a rope, a bunch of feathers, or a meadow. Just as letters combine to form names, names form words, which are the Buddha's words (བཀའ་) and treatises (བསྟན་བཅོས་). If analyzed carefully, letters are individual parts that are not combined. Names combine to form words, such as "samsara and nirvana (འཁོར་འདས་)," which are used to express the relationship between things with different meanings. Therefore, letters and names express a certain meaning.
