It is alkaline water. Why is it called the Playful Ocean? Because the eight great dragons reside in the kalpa, and it is a place of play and amusement, hence the name. The eight dragons are: Joyful, Near Joyful, Horse Base, Letting Go and Holding, Radiant, Protector of the Land, Great Black, and Elephant Flank. These dragons, when fighting with the Asuras, serve as forces in Indra's army, arising from all four modes of birth. The measurements of these oceans are: the inner ocean, Mount Sumeru and the Yoke-Holder Mountain, have a width of eighty thousand yojanas. The extent in the east-west direction is three times that for each of the four directions. The inner circumference of the Playful Ocean is 320,000 yojanas around the face of Mount Sumeru, and 960,000 yojanas around the face of the Yoke-Holder Mountain. The second ocean outside the Yoke-Holder Mountain has a width of forty thousand yojanas, equal to the height of that mountain. The remaining ones are also such that the height of the inner mountain is equal to the ocean outside it. The width outside the Plow-Shaft Mountain is twenty thousand, outside the Sandalwood Mountain is ten thousand, outside the Beautiful to See Mountain is five thousand, outside the Horse-Ear Mountain is two thousand five hundred, and the last, the Namdul Mountain, has a Playful Ocean outside it with a width of one thousand three hundred and fifty, and its length is three times that amount. The width of the first is equal to the width of one side of Mount Sumeru, and the remaining six are considered equal to the height of the six mountains. From the Circumference-Holder to the surrounding alkaline region, the width of the outer ocean is three hundred thousand and twenty-two thousand yojanas. From the Circumference-Holder to the Great Circumference-Holder, the width of the ocean is three hundred thousand and twenty-two thousand yojanas. Then, the continents are level in height with the land and water. The reason is that on the four sides of Mount Sumeru, above and below the ocean, the wind rises in a shape similar to the shape of each continent, looking inward and outward to the great ocean. From those waters, the sticky parts are collected, inserted downwards, and made to exist upwards at the same height as the water, slightly higher. The time is as previously stated, formed at the final moment of division and collection of elements. That is, the four continents and subcontinents arise from their own elements.

Regarding this, the eastern Continent of Superior Body is crescent-shaped, with each of its three sides measuring two thousand yojanas. The width of the convex side is three hundred and fifty yojanas. It is called the Continent of Superior Body because the people of this continent have bodies that are much larger than those of Jambudvipa. This great continent is shaped like a crescent moon, with its flat side facing Mount Meru and its convex side facing the outer perimeter. The three sides each measure two thousand yojanas, and the small convex side measures three hundred and fifty yojanas. To the south of Mount Meru, the shape of Jambudvipa is like a yoke, with three sides similar to those of the Continent of Superior Body. One side measures one and a quarter yojanas. From Vajrasana (Bodh Gaya) northwards, after passing nine black mountains, between the Snow Mountain and the Fragrant Mountain, there is the Anavatapta Lake. On the shore of that lake, there is the Jambu-vriksha tree ((梵文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思)), hence it is called Jambudvipa. Its shape is like a yoke, resembling the shape of a cart. The three long sides each measure two thousand yojanas, and the short side on the southern perimeter measures one and a quarter yojanas. In the center is the dwelling place of the last existence of the Bodhisattva, along with the Vajrasana. It is also adorned with the essence, the Bodhi tree. According to the Hearers (Shravakas), in the center of the five-pointed vajra that is erected upwards, there is a tree, and at each of the four corners there is a stupa, with a distance of half a krosha between them. According to the Mahayana, a tree grows from the center of the crossed vajra, and at each of the four corners there is a vajra-kila stupa, with a distance of one krosha between them. This is the place where the Buddhas of the Fortunate Aeon attain unsurpassed enlightenment, and it is said that even seven fires and one flood cannot harm it. The name of this single tree changes according to the time, earlier or later, just as if there were a thousand names of trees. In the past, when Krakucchanda Buddha attained enlightenment, it was a banyan tree; now, when Shakyamuni Buddha attains enlightenment, it is an Ashoka tree; in the future, when Maitreya Buddha attains enlightenment, it will be a Naga tree, a flower tree, and so on. To the west, the Continent of Cattle Enjoyment is round, with a circumference of seven thousand five hundred yojanas and a diameter of three thousand five hundred yojanas. It is called the Continent of Cattle Enjoyment because it is mostly used by wish-fulfilling cattle and powerful elephants. Its shape is round, with a circumference of seven thousand five hundred yojanas and a diameter of three thousand five hundred yojanas. To the north, the Continent of Unpleasant Sound is square, with each side measuring two
