Various appearances, are they merely to be accepted or rejected? Like a lama's fire blazing in a dream, though without inherent existence, one fears its heat. Though the hell realms and so on have no inherent existence, one should avoid them for fear of the suffering of burning and roasting. Like being deluded by fever, though not entirely without darkness, one wanders and is agitated in the depths. Though the aggregates of ignorance have no inherent existence, one should dispel delusion with the three wisdoms. When a musician plays a lute and sings, upon examination, that sound has no inherent existence. But without examination, when assembled, pleasant sounds arise, relieving the suffering of beings' minds. When examining karma and cause and effect, one and different have no inherent existence. Yet, like illusions, phenomena arise and cease; and like something real, one experiences various joys and sorrows. When a water drop fills a vase, the first drop does not fill the vase, nor does the last, and so on. Yet, through the assembly of interdependent conditions, the vase becomes full. When experiencing the results of happiness and suffering, the first moment of cause does not cause the experience, nor does the last moment, and so on. Yet, through the assembly of interdependent conditions, one experiences happiness and suffering. Ema! This appearance, delightful in its unexamined state, has no essence. Yet, this phenomenon, appearing as if it exists, is profound and difficult for the inferior to see. Now, when settling into meditative equipoise, what need is there for even the mere appearance of existence? What exists? What does not exist? Where and who is there to make assertions of being or not being? Without object and the nature of objects, free from all acceptance and rejection, free from elaboration. Remaining naturally in the innate state, with uncorrected intelligence, one becomes a great being. Thus, by practicing with relative Bodhicitta and ultimate Bodhicitta. May the two accumulations be completed without interruption, and may the two benefits of oneself and others be perfectly fulfilled! The Wheel of Weapons Called 'Striking the Enemy at the Vital Point' In a forest where various fearsome wild animals roam, the yogi Dharma Rakshita, who understands scripture and reasoning, composed this according to the words of the holy lama, and practiced it in the forest fearful of the degenerate age. He gave it to Atisha, and Atisha, in order to tame many difficult-to-tame beings, practiced it everywhere, and upon realizing it, spoke these verses: When I renounced the kingdom and practiced austerities, O supreme lama who accumulated merit! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Homage! This supreme nectar of Dharma is the empowerment of the teachings. Now, having obtained the antidote, I also hold the words. Towards the ultimate of accomplishments, there is no partiality. When spreading wisdom and learning from all aspects, I have seen countless wonders. In this degenerate age, this Dharma will be beneficial.’ Having said this, among the countless Tibetan and Chinese disciples, to countless Yidam deities including the Bhagavati Tara, he prophesied the vessel-like disciple Upasika, and bestowed upon her the Dharma to subdue the untamed beings of the borderlands.
