And also, to all those who circumambulate, with reverence and genuine offerings. Among these, the conduct of the main, retinue, and sub-retinue are all in accordance with the capacities of beings with sharp, middling, and dull faculties, using various skillful means to ripen and liberate them. Just as the order of faculties, the (Guru) extensively and comprehensively practices these methods. For those places and pure lands with excellent qualities, after such praise, one enters into the aspiration: As mentioned above, for the place, the adornments of the place, and the main deity and retinue, after such praise, may all limitless sentient beings, represented by the praiser, without exception, be swiftly drawn from the deep and difficult-to-escape ocean of suffering of samsara by the compassionate iron hook of the deity Avalokiteśvara, and ultimately attain the state of ultimate bliss, realizing all knowable things as they are, seeing the self-born wisdom Dharmakāya of the perfect Buddha, and receiving its compassionate blessings. At the same time, even before attaining this state, may we never stray from the supreme path of unsurpassed Bodhi, and as taught by the supreme teacher, may all obstacles, internal and external, secret, be eliminated for all diligent practitioners, and gradually, may all sentient beings of the six realms, bound by karma and afflictions as vast as the sky, and encompassed by higher and lower realms, be free from factors contrary to the Dharma, possess favorable conditions, and rely on the excellent spiritual friend to attain the state of omniscient wisdom, and may the excellent qualities of the three secrets increase, ultimately achieving complete accomplishment. The third part of the root text, which is the final author's statement, is: This praise to the noble Avalokiteśvara was composed by the Bhikshu Kunga Nyingpo in Lhasa. Although it arose spontaneously, it was not for the sake of showing off his own abilities, nor for flaunting his eloquence, but purely for the benefit of beings. At the age of twenty, in front of the self-arisen five-fold image, he offered this cloud of offerings, bound by beautiful words and melodious praises. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By the power of the earth, may all sentient beings, including the noble Avalokiteśvara (’འཇིག་རྟེན་དབང་ཕྱུག་’, Lord of the World) and all his retinue, from the realm of profound and vast contemplation, unfailingly receive the manifestation of auspicious blessings, and may their aspirations be fulfilled. This is the commentary on the praise of the noble Avalokiteśvara composed by Jamgon Taranatha (’འཇམ་མགོན་ཏཱ་ར་ནཱ་ཐ’, Jamgon Taranatha). This gate of explanation is not limited to this alone, and there may be other various methods, but in order to be somewhat in accordance with the essential meaning of our own tradition, it is briefly explained in a timely manner. For those who understand the high and vast gates of reason and analysis, and who have had the good fortune to be close to the source of all goodness—the teachings of the Buddha—from a young age, and who later practiced on the profound secret path of non-retrogression in the ultimate meaning, hearing that the supreme incarnation Vajradhara (’རྡོ་རྗེའི་མཚན་འཆང་བ་’, Vajradhara) holder had such a wish; and for the one who has unwavering faith in the Lhasa Jowo (’ལྷ་སྤྱན་གཟིགས་’, Lhasa Jowo), the one named Golden Name (’གསེར་གྱི་མིང་ཅན་’, Golden Name), who clearly expressed this wish; especially, for Kunga Rabten (’ཀུན་དགའ་རབ་བརྟན་’, Kunga Rabten), who reveres Jamgon Jetsun (’འཇམ་མགོན་རྗེ་བཙུན་’, Jamgon Jetsun), who praises the deities, as his sole refuge in this life and the next, placing his secret name (’མིང་གསང་བ་’, Secret Name) as a cause for increasing faith, unshakably in the core of his heart. Relying on the power of the pure intention, although the conditions for perfect correction were not fully met due to the unclear root text, etc., this brief commentary was written to the best of my ability. It was started on the fourth day of the fifth month of the Water Buffalo year, when the stars Gyal and Phur (’གཟའ་སྐར་རྒྱལ་ཕུར་ཟུང་’, Stars Gyal and Phur together) were conjunct, and completed within three days, saying whatever good words were available at the time. The author is Mati (’མ་ཏི་’, Mati), one who is extremely small, wearied by the afflictions of the three doors. The one who embellished and proofread the text is Guna (’གུ་ཎའི་’, Guna), a member of the retinue of Chosnang Chudzin Rabgawai Pal (’ཆོས་སྣང་བཅུད་འཛིན་རབ་དགའི་དཔལ་’, Chosnang Chudzin Rabgawai Pal), who possesses the virtues of holding vows, and it was completed through his excellent power. May this merit cause the noble, compassionate Avalokiteśvara, the supreme protector of the three realms, to swiftly and without delay fulfill the vast activities that pervade the sky, for all those to be tamed, and may they perfectly attain the auspicious and excellent result.
