The offerings I present to you are: my own body as a ransom for human sacrifice; a butter lamp as a ransom for the mind; sound and music as a ransom for speech; and all harmonious objects and implements as a ransom for the year's calamities. Accept these supreme ransom offerings and pacify hail and lightning! O! To the local deities and the gods of the land, the yearly ransom offerings I present are: various animals, humans, and wealth; creatures that fly in the sky and burrow in the earth; those that roam in the forests and dwell in the wetlands; and wild animals that frequent the mountains, and so forth, as a ransom for the year's calamities. In short, countless lives, various harmonious sacred substances, various beautiful ornaments, various pleasing foods, such a wondrous yearly ransom, made of the five precious substances, blessed by mantras and mudras, the result possessing body, speech, and mind. First, blessed by the five grains, the intention of the lineage is also praised here.
