The Entrance for All Princes into the General and Specific Aspects of the Great Vehicle: A Lamp for Profound Meaning 5-97 The Entrance for All Princes into the General and Specific Aspects of the Great Vehicle: A Lamp for Profound Meaning Homage to the Lama and Protector Manjushri! Here, the precious teachings of our teacher, in this land of snow, are due to the collective merit of sentient beings to be tamed. Emanations of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, such as kings, ministers, bodhisattvas, and many wise and accomplished masters, have firmly established their lotus feet and offered through the three joys of the four meaningful ways, guarding the secret of their speech, thus initiating the precious teachings of scripture and realization. The founding, establishing, propagating, and developing are considered as the Early and Later Dissemination periods. Among the great translators of the Later Dissemination, there are holders of the traditions of Drogmi, Bari, Nyan, Mal, etc., as well as Khon Konchog Gyalpo, his son Jetsun Sakya Panchen Kunga Nyingpo's two sons, and the Sakya Pandita and Phagpa Rinpoche, the five venerable ones. These five venerable ones are great beings who can independently interpret the meaning of the teachings. This tradition is known as the Sakya school, praised and revered by all impartial wise and accomplished individuals in India and Tibet. What is relevant here is: 5-98 The Great Vehicle path stages that Jetsun Manjushri personally bestowed upon Je Sakya Panchen Kunga Nyingpo, which can be summarized in one verse: 'Separation from the Four Attachments'. Jamyang Gon Sakya Pandita Kunga Gyaltsen Pelzangpo, at the request of a remote practitioner, wrote a concise and easy-to-understand commentary on 'Two Letters to Meditators'. To understand the categories of meditators, such as the initial separation from the four attachments, the intent of 'Letters to Meditators' is explained, dividing them into superior, middling, and inferior. Here, according to need, the inferior, middling, and superior categories are explained. First: Although having entered the door of the precious teachings, they are not embraced by the holy ones, and although possessing shamatha and so on, they are controlled by ignorance, becoming lazy and indolent meditators. Although lacking faith and the desire for virtue, they are motivated by others' persuasion and consider themselves superior to others. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Those who compete for fame and wealth, seeking enjoyment, are like fierce beasts dwelling in the mountains, pretending to be meditators; those who use various secret methods, with invisible malice, displaying seemingly beneficial psychic powers and miracles, deceiving sentient beings, seeking gain, are like foxes wandering in villages, pretending to be meditators. Therefore, these three inferior types of practitioners should be avoided. The second type is: although not knowing much about the meaning of the sutras and tantras, having faith in the venerable lama who has bestowed the empowerment, meditating with devotion at the crown of the head, and having genuine respect, this is a practitioner who has grasped the path to liberation. Although the view has not yet merged into emptiness, having attained complete maturation and liberation oneself, with unerring practice, compassionately helping others in life and death, this is a wish-fulfilling jewel-like practitioner who benefits others. Diligently striving on the path, even if one has not yet achieved accomplishment oneself, but possessing vows and precepts, this is a practitioner who quickly liberates from samsara. Therefore, one should learn from any of these types of practitioners. The third type is: having self-confidence in the view that transcends the four extremes of elaboration, deeply immersed in the samadhi of the profound generation and completion stages, with conduct that does not contradict the Buddha's teachings, this is a practitioner like a lion dwelling on the snow mountain. Possessing the armor to liberate all beings from suffering, being unwavering in the accumulation of merit through prostrations, offerings, circumambulations, etc., and in the profound meaning of emptiness, having the ability to understand the individual realities of each, this is a practitioner like a hero entering the battlefield. Possessing the training in higher discipline, the training in higher concentration, and the training in higher wisdom, as well as the four means of attraction and the six perfections, this is a practitioner who benefits others through the four means of attraction. Therefore, it is very important to have the aspiration to become like any of these. A Brief Explanation of 'Separation from the Four Attachments' As mentioned above, after explaining the types of practitioners, although there are many ways to be accepted, the essence of the meaning is the Buddha's great path, the essence of all Mahayana. Now, a brief explanation of 'Separation from the Four Attachments' is given: Kunchen Chokyi Gyalpo Sonam Senge said: Obtaining a body to practice the Dharma is very rare, And it has the nature of impermanence and rapid destruction. Having fully realized this, regarding the acceptance and rejection of good and evil, Taking diligence seriously is the first step. Seeing the infinite beings in the ocean of samsara, Sinking into the mouth of the suffering crocodile, Therefore, seeking the shore of liberation and nirvana, Generating renunciation is the second step. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
