Then, through this virtue, may I attain Vajrasattva (Dorje Sempa), and may I establish all beings in his realm. Dedicate the merit with this. Then, ringing the bell, the supreme teacher, worthy of offerings from gods and humans, the Buddha, I prostrate to you, may there be auspiciousness today! All sentient beings, whether walking or not walking, may all of them be auspicious today! Peaceful and free from attachment, the Dharma, worthy of offerings from gods and humans, I prostrate to the Dharma! All sentient beings, may they all be auspicious! The holy Sangha, the Sangha (Dge 'dun), all sentient beings, may they all be auspicious! May the day be auspicious, may the night be auspicious, may the noon also be auspicious, may day and night always be auspicious, may the Three Jewels (Dkon mchog gsum) bring auspiciousness today! Thus, and so on, recite auspicious words, and recite sutras for the deceased, as well as prayers, etc., as much as one knows how. This 'Burial Ritual' or 'Appendix to the Cremation Ritual' was composed by Ngawang Kunga Lodro Sangye Tenpai Gyaltsen Pal Zangpo of the Sakya school (Sa skya pa). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
